The Hart Career Center at Illinois Wesleyan offers a range of services for students, alumni and employers.

Our focus is to create and nurture partnerships between employers and students for the benefit of everyone. Students gain access to top organizations for intern-ships and job opportunities; organizations receive individualized assistance in meeting recruiting needs and identifying the best candidates.

The Hart Career Center staff has more than 30 years collective expe-rience in connecting employers with student talent. The Director’s responsibilities include employer development and services, helping students with career counseling and preparing for graduate school, and services for alumni.

The Assistant Director/Internship Coordinator is the point of con-tact for organizations seeking interns, helps them publicize their posi-tions, and hosts businesses and organizations at the annual Internship Fair, held every October.

The Recruitment Coordinator arranges your on-campus recruiting visits and plans Career Fairs and other events.

u Academic credit is often available for students if desired. A Learning Contract, faculty supervision, and a minimum number of on-site work hours are re-quired based on the academic credit requested.

u Most full-time internships occur during the summer; part-time internships are offered September-April.

u Employers should provide a description of the internship opportunity to the Hart Career Center. We’ll publicize your opening and forward resumes to you.

u We’ll work with you to support and evaluate the student’s performance.

The Hart Career Center offers students and alumni a variety of services that are essential for competing in today’s job market. We also offer personalized services to employers to meet individ-ual recruiting needs, and to make the task of identifying and interviewing top talent simple.

A growing list of employers from Fortune 500 companies, nonprofit, education and health-care organizations recruit at Illinois Wesleyan. Employers are invited to visit our campus and interview students from all majors at the Hart Career Center. If you would rather meet a number of students in a short time, you can attend one of our Career Fairs, participate in an industry-specific panel, host an employer information session, or take part in a networking event.

u On-Campus Recruitment The Hart Career Center provides on-campus recruiting and interviewing assistance

and facilities that assist in identifying and hiring Illinois Wesleyan graduates. Once you have identified qualified candidates, we’ll manage all aspects of your interview sched-ule. We can contact students and schedule interviews, either in person or via video.

Career fairs provide recruiters from all industries with a convenient opportu-nity to meet a large number of highly motivated and talented students. Attending a career fair is an excellent way to establish a presence on campus and maximize your recruiting potential.
