Y TPU Coated Waterproof Fabrics �PVC may be cheap to manufacture, but it doesn’t age well and it’s toxic for the environment. TPU costs twice as much, but is stronger and more durable, UV- resistant and abrasion-resistant – and much easier on the environment. We use TPU, not PVC, as part of our commitment to better products and a smaller carbon footprint.

Colorfast, UV-Resistant Impregnated Nylon � Harken® bags carry a higher UV rating than our competitors’ so you’ll have a bag that wins the never-ending battle against sun, salt, temperature extremes, fading and delaminating.

Radio Frequency Stitch-Free, Weld-Seam Waterproof Construction � Seams on a Harken® bag aren’t stitched, they’re welded with our high-frequency technology. Features that require stitching, like pockets and straps, are stitched to an added panel, which is then RF-welded to the bag. Harken’s solid construction requires extra material and layers, but when we say waterproof, we mean it.

Roll-Top Closure for a Watertight Seal �The best way to achieve a fully waterproof closure system is to use a rolltop, with the TPU fabric sealing against itself. Bags with zippers – even a waterproof zipper – will have a small gap at the zipper end where water can get through. Where we need to keep your gear dry, we use a rolltop system. It’s a small detail, but it’s details like this that set Harken® apart.

Water-Resistant YKK® Zippers �A product is only as good as its zippers, so we use the best. YKK’s water-resistant zippers have a weather-shielding binding that keeps water out. Since water can enter at the end of any zipper, we keep our zipped pockets welded outside the bag or on our water-resistant bags, which are not meant to be submerged.

Taped Seams �All stitched seams are sealed with high-quality seam tape. Seam tape is applied beyond the tiny needle holes, keeping water well out of reach.

Air Purge Valve � This is a luxury add-on that saves time and hassle. Instead of having to open and close and try to bleed air from the bag, you simply turn the valve and compress the bag, keeping your items in place. Conversely, if you want air in the bag, just blow into the valve. Could it be any easier?

Harken’s Patent Pending Radial Traction Zones: 360- degree pattern of siping allows siping flexion of the sole in all directions. This pattern is placed under the 3 main pressure zones of your foot to give each area independent traction. The sipes expand and contract expelling water for superior traction, while escape channels push water out from under the sole, giving you maximum contact with the deck surface. Used in combination with a special rubber compound, traction is greatly increased.

Anti-bacterial Silver-Woven Footbed: Silver’s inherent properties neutralize odor-causing bacteria. Unlike spray-on finishes that wash away, silver threads woven into the insole reduce odor for the lifetime of your shoe.

Integrated Neoprene Collar: Stretch collar replaces shoe tongue for a quick, comfortable fit.

Lace Protector: Neoprene cover retains lace ends to prevent snagging.

Quick-Drying Materials: Synthetic materials manage moisture by dispersing it over a large surface area to dry. Low-absorption, layered mesh increases air circulation for a cool, dry foot.

Stabilization Track: Controls ankle and foot rotation while maintaining freedom of movement by providing increased deck contact. Our wider toe box further stabilizes the shoe.
