Methodology means the way or system of collecting information and data preparing for a report. Basically we used different sources in this regard. So, we can categorize them between two sources. Such as

E-COMMERCE:

E-commerce is the exchange of goods, information products, or services via an electronic medium such as the Internet. It refers to the use of the Internet & the Web to transact business. It is about digitally enabled commercial transactions between & among organizations and individuals. This means transactions that occur over the Internet & the Web. Commercial transactions involve the exchange of value across organizational or individual boundaries in return for products and services.


CASE STUDY QUESTION

Question -1: Describe the unique features of E-commerce technology illustrated in this case.

Answer: The features of E-commerce are discussed in the perspective

1. Track pass:It refers a premium service that consists of several interactive applications, including track pass scanner, Track pass pit command & track pass race view.

2. Race view:Race view renders each car digitally & offers a multitude of camera angles & viewing option for each & every car & driver.

3. 24-hrs. news centre: Other features that turner has implemented on NASCAR. Com includes a 24-hrs. news centre, live streaming of some race, a social networking community section, video library etc.4. Online banking:


Online banking (or Internet banking) allows customers to conduct financial transactions on a secure website operated by their retail or virtual bank, credit union or building society.

5. Online shopping: Online shopping is the process whereby consumers directly buy goods, services etc from a seller interactively in real-time without an intermediary service over the Internet. An online shop, internet shop, web shop, web store, online store, or virtual store evokes the physical analogy of buying products or services at a bricks-and-mortar retailer or in a shopping mall. Online shopping is a form of electronic commerce used for business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-consumer (B2C) transactions.

6. Web shop: The term 'web shop' has a number of meanings. Online shopping offers a larger selection of goods and services and thus greater choice at optimal prices. Online shopping widened the target audience to men and women of the middle class.

Question-2: How does the Web enhances the TV business for the companies discussed in the case? How does it add value?

Answer:


Videoconferencing:A videoconference or video conference (also known as a video teleconference) is a set of interactive telecommunication technologies which allow two or more locations to interact via two-way video and audio transmissions simultaneously. It has also been called 'visual collaboration' and is a type of groupware.

Turner Sports New Media is the online division of Turner Broadcasting system & a prominent media company. It focused on making deals to manage the web rights of various sports leagues and to unite TV & the Internet in creative way. In this case, we see that Turner Sports New Media has established itself as an innovator through its ability to combine TV & Web more successfully than rivals.

Turner’s formula is to provide rich, interactive features that use TV & the Web simultaneously to enhance the viewers’ experience.The term "interactive television" is used to refer to a variety of rather different kinds of interactivity and this can lead to considerable misunderstanding.With each site that Turner New Media manages their goal is to get fans switching between TV &


unique features on their desktops or laptops. Thus the companies add values.

Internet Protocol television (IPTV) is a system through which internet television services are delivered using the architecture and networking methods of the Internet Protocol Suite over a packet-switched network infrastructure, e.g., the Internet and broadband Internet access networks, instead of being delivered through traditional radio frequency broadcast, satellite signal, and cable television (CATV) formats.

IPTV services may be classified into three main groups: live television, time-shifted programming, and video on demand. It is distinguished from general Internet-based or web-based multimedia services by its on-going standardization process (e.g., European Telecommunications Standards Institute) and preferential deployment scenarios in subscriber-based telecommunications networks with high-speed access channels into end-user premises via set-top boxes or other customer-premises equipment.

Question-3: Why is NASCAR Track Pass a good example of Turner Sports New Media’s value to sports league sites?


Answer:

Track Pass is the most interactive feature of NASCAR.com. It is a premium service that consists of several interactive applications, including Track Pass Scanner, Track Pass Pit Command & Track Pass Race View. Race View renders each car digitally & offers a multitude of camera angles & viewing options for each & every car & drivers. Users can pause, rewind & replay live races & listen to any driver’s in-car audio, in addition to a variety of others features that give the viewer unparalleled customization over how they watch & enjoy each race.

So, from the above discussion, we can say that NASCAR Track Pass is a good example of Turner Sports New Media’s value to sports league site.

Question-4: Do you think Turner Sports New Media will continue to grow steadily? Why or why not?

Answer:


Yes, I think Turner Sports New Media will continue to grow steadily. There are too many reasons behind their continuity & growing. 1. Turner Sports New Media has established itself as an innovator in Web & TV Internet sector.2. It has already succeeded in the longest partnership between league & programmee.3. Turner contract with the NBA is settled to run through the 2015-2016 NBA season.

Turner has implemented a wide array of cutting-edge applications & offerings to NASCAR.com including Track Pass, a 24-hrs centre, line streaming for some races, a social networking community section, & an extensive video library.

One feature that Turner hopes to develop is TNT NBA overtime- a broadband feature on NBA.com that streams TNT televised games, highlights, in which user can get live, delayed & on demand. If Turner’s track record continues, then it will continue to grow steadily.
