On Sunday, the Harding Academy the-ater department will open “Little Shop of Horrors,” its first production led by new director of theater arts Jennifer Daniels. Vocal direction will be by Dan Burdette, and orchestration will be by Colby Can-terbury.
Rehearsals for this production began in early September and set construction was completed in early October, with the help of Paul Hayes and Je! Frizzell. Hayes and Frizzell also are responsible for the creation of “Audrey 2,” making Harding Academy the brand-new owner of the only second set of Audrey 2’s in Memphis. The cast has been working very hard, and having a blast as this sto-
ry of the man-eating avocado from outer space attempts to take over the world.
Wilson Hughes provides the pow-erful bass of Audrey 2, and the rest of the lead cast includes Audrey, played by Brittain Lawrence of Germantown; Seymour, portrayed by Caleb Cranford; Crystal, played by Cameron Donlin; Chif-fon, portrayed by Katie Fisher McHugh; Ronnette, played by Maria Jackson; Orin
Scrivello, played by John Shanklin; and Spencer Hebert of Germantown as Mush-nik.
Performances will be in O.O. Emmons Auditorium at Harding Academy, 1100 Cherry Road. For more information call 901-767-4949 or visithardinglions.org.
Debra Sisson handles communications for Harding Academy.
