in the following categories:

Senior Volunteer of the Year Mrs. Priscilla Allen

Adult Volunteer of the Year Ms. Melissa Mullen

Youth Volunteers of the Year Key Club of Westshore Jr. Sr. H.S. - Terri Friend, Sponsor

The Harbor City Volunteers of the Year were honored on Wednes-

day, January 23, 2019 at the Maxwell C. King Center for the Perform-ing Arts. This award acknowledges the crucial role school volunteers play in students’ lives and how they enrich our schools with their self-less dedication.

The gift of time is precious, and volunteers are truly generous when it comes to investing this valuable resource in our schools and with the students.

A special “thank you” to all the Harbor City Elementary school volun-

teers!

students were excited

to host the Florida

Wildlife Hospital and their Educational

Outreach Program. This program teaches

students and adults about the im-

portance of preserving our native wildlife

and their environment for future genera-

tions.

The Florida Wildlife Hospital brought their

rehabilitated Owl Ambassadors and

spoke to students about their natural his-

tory, habitat and value to the environ-

ment.

Hello Harbor City Families,

We will begin our fundraiser,

Pennies for Patients this Friday, February 1st.

This fundraiser is for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society who help families that have a loved one battling cancer.

Students are encouraged to collect spare change and fill their classroom box each week during the month of February. Olive Garden has teamed up with LLS to provide a tasty spaghetti lunch with salad and breadsticks to the class that raises the most money for the whole month. Weekly class winners will re-ceive a special treat! Help us be the school that raises the most money for this worthy cause.

Thank you!

Mrs. Shillingsburg
