SUBJECT: Tafsir (Explanation of Quran)
TEACHERS: Shaykh Noor Ul Aqtab Siddiqi & Shaykh Tauqir Ishaq
Shaykh Noor Ul Aqtab Siddiqi is the second son of the great Shaykh Muhammad
Abdul Wahab Siddiqi (May Allah be please with him). He is a Solicitor by
profession and he is also an internationally renowned Scholar. He studied the
Islamic Sciences under his illustrious father and has taught in Hijaz College on a
part time basis for a number of years. He is also a spiritual Shaykh of the
Naqshbandi Qadiri Sufi Order and has travelled the world spreading the
message of Islam.
Shaykh Tauqir Ishaq is the son in law of Shaykh Muhammad Abdul Wahab
Siddiqi (May Allah be please with him). He is a qualified Civil Engineer and is
the full time CEO of Hijaz College. He is an internationally renowned Scholar
and has travelled the world spreading the word of Islam. He is also a spiritual
Shaykh of the Naqshbandi Qadiri Sufi Order. He studied the Islamic Sciences
under his illustrious father in law and continues to teach various subjects in
Hijaz College.

SUBJECT: Aqeedah (Islamic Belief)
TEACHER: Maulana Ismaeel De Silva
Maulana Ismaeel reverted to Islam in ............. after having studied Islam and
being inspired by his primary teacher, Sheikh Tauqir Ishaq. Since embracing
Islam, he has spent many years studying Islam and enrolled at Hijaz College in
2005 where he completed an BA & MA in Islamic Law and Theology in 2009.
He has been a teacher in Hijaz College for the past 7 years, also teaching part
time during his BA and MA studies. The subjects he has taught include Aqeedah,
Seerah as well as Religious Education and Government and Politics at GCSE & A
Level.
Maulana Ismaeel has also authored a book named ........... (currently being
published) which explains the concept of Tawhid in detail.

SUBJECT: Fiqh (Islamic Law)
TEACHER: Maulana Sultan Mahmood
Maulana Sultan began his studies in 1994 when he enrolled in Hijaz College at
the age of 18. He then went on to spend 6 years studying the various sciences of
Islam in detail and completed his BA in Islamic Law and Theology in 2000. He
is also part of the first class to graduate from Hijaz College.
Since his graduation, Maulana Sultan has taught on different courses as well as
privately in his home. Different subjects, such as Fiqh, Hadith and Usul Fiqh are
all subjects which he has taught at varying levels. Maulana Sultan also
continues to further his study in Hadith under Mufti Abdul Kareem Jamaati of
Birmingham.

SUBJECT: Hadith (Prophetic sayings)
TEACHER: Maulana Asim Awan
Maulana Asim began his studies under his elder brother Maulana Arif Awan at
the age of 16, and advanced primarily in the area of Arabic grammar and fiqh.
He then enrolled in Hijaz College at the age of 18 in 2006 and completed his BA
in Islamic Law and Theology, graduating in 2009.
Upon graduation, Maulana Asim began further his study of Hadith, Usul Fiqh
(the principles of Islamic Law) and Arabic Grammar under Mufti Abdul Kareem
Jamaati of Birmingham and continues to study with him regularly. He has
taught on different courses as well as privately in the subjects of Arabic
Grammar and Hadith.
SYLLABUS: Set text: 40 Hadith of Imam Nawawi (ra) which will cover the following themes:
Intention Meaning of Islam, Imaan, Ihsaan The concept of Bidah Islamic ettiquettes Leaving what is bad The heart Different aspects of spiritual excellence The rank of the friends of Allah

SUBJECT: Seerah (Prophetic biography)
TEACHER: Maulana Arif Awan
Maulana Arif Awan began his studies at the age of 18 when he enrolled in Hijaz
College in 1994. He went on to complete a 6 year course and graduated with a
BA in Islamic Law and Theology in 2000. He is also part of the first group of
graduates of Hijaz College.
Since his graduation, Maulana Arif has taught on different courses as well as

SUBJECT: Tasawwuf (Islamic Spirituality)
TEACHERS: Shaykh Faiz Ul Aqtab Siddiqi , Shaykh Muhammad Munir & guest

Shaykh Faiz Ul Aqtab Siddiqi is the eldest son of Shaykh Muhammad Abdul
Wahab Siddiqi (May Allah be pleased with him) and is the spiritual head of the
Naqshbandi Qadiri Sufi Order. From a young age he accompanied his illustrious
father on his travels throughout the world spreading the message of Islam, and
has many years of experience in delivering lectures and teaching the Islamic
Sciences. He is also the founder of Hijaz Community, an organisation which
aims to rejuvenate society and continues to work full time to achieve this goal.
He is a Barrister by profession, having qualified in ................................... He
specialises in all aspects of Islamic Law and has given advice in the Court of
Appeal and House of Lords. He has, however, limited his practice to a few cases
a month in order to focus full time on serving Allah and His beloved Messenger
(May Allah bless him and grant him peace).
Shaykh Muhammad Munir is a Spiritual Shaykh of the Naqshbandi Sufi
Order and is one of the closest companions of Shaykh Muhammad Abdul
Wahab Siddiqi (ra). He studied the Islamic Sciences under Shaykh Muhammad
Abdul Wahab Siddiqi (ra) and spent over 20 years learning and accompanying
him. He is an experienced teacher, having taught for many years in Hijaz
College and he is the teacher of most graduates of the Institute.
He has travelled throughout the world spreading Islam, in particular in
Mauritius, Ireland and France.
SYLLABUS: Topics covered in the first year include:

ASSESSMENTS
The Diploma will be assessed through MCQs after every 6 lectures.
Certain subjects will be assessed using a different method depending on their nature. For example
Quran Recitation and Pronunciation will be assessed practically by the teacher as much of the learning
will be practical based.
There will also not be exams for the lectures delivered by guests.
Students will be graded as follows:
0% - 50% - FAIL
50% - 60% - PASS
60% - 70% - MERIT
70% + - DISTINCTION
The overall classification attained will be the average percentage achieved over the 3 years.
