What to do if there is a delay in my full-time education provision* In rare occasions there may be a delay in a child/young person attending a suitable full-time education provision. A transition planning meeting should be held in the May/June before a Sept school start, or two months before Easter or Summer term start. Settings can use the Hampshire Transition Planning Agreement. A summary of actions should be included. Present at the meeting should be the child’s Social Worker and key staff from Early Years Setting and Primary/Infant school. Securing Full-time Education Provision Action Plan PageTo be completed in the very rare circumstances that a child or young person is without a school place or can no longer access their last named provision for any reason.

All Children in Care should attain appropriate, full time education within 20 days of leaving their previous provider. Changes of education should be planned via a PEP meeting. Where this is not possible, every effort should be made to include all parties to the PEP in transition planning, and agreed actions should be recorded here. Where there is no school of record the Social Worker MUST maintain the sections of the PEP listed under “What to do if there is a delay in my full-time education provision” as this is a statutory subsection of the care plan.
