Attention residents with garden

beds down in our resident

gardens: please note that

November is a wonderful time

to plant a crop of winter

veggies. It’s time to say

goodbye to the tomatoes and

squashes and say hello to the

lettuces and beets! Winter is the

perfect time of year to plant all

of those leafy greens that are so

healthy for us. Crops such as

lettuce, spinach, arugula, chard,

kale, broccoli, cabbage, chives,

onions, radishes, carrots and

beets do fantastic here in our

mild Sonoma County winter. If

you need help removing your

summer plants and preparing

the soil in your bed, please feel

free to contact me via the

concierge desk. I’d be more

than happy to help you get all

ready for the winter planting. If

you’re not sure where to get

your veggie starts I recommend

Kings Nursery, Prickett’s

Nursery and/or Harmony Farm

Supply and Nursery. Not only

do these local nurseries carry

wonderful plant material, they

also have very knowledgeable

staff members there to assist

you. If you’re a new resident

and you’re interested in a

garden bed, please contact me

and I’ll get you all set up and

ready to plant. As of now we

only have a few garden beds

available so contact me as soon

as possible. I look forward to

hearing from you. Happy

planting!

~Heather Moore,

Varenna Landscape Director

Letter from Tammy

Dear Residents,

I want to remind you that as winter approaches, please be

aware of your surroundings. Rain and cold weather

brings possible falls from unseen standing water.

Don’t forget Daylight Savings is

this Sunday, Nov. 6th. Turn your

clocks back one hour on Saturday

night.

I want to also thank you for welcoming me as your

Interim Executive Director. Please don’t hesitate to stop

by and introduce yourself. I’d love to meet you.

Sincerely,

~ Tammy Moratto, Interim Executive Director
