On 3rd

Aug. 2018, one-day interactive Career assistance workshop was organized by

School of Management. Mr.M.Sohail Ahmed, Project lead, Wipro Technologies Pvt Ltd.,

was the resource person.

On 11th

Aug. 2018, A guest lecture programme was organized by School of

Management on Global trends and challenges in Management. Dr.S.Abdul Nazar,

Associate Professor, Salalah College of Engineering, Oman was the resource person.

Our MBA students coordinated by Mr. Shaply Abdul Kareem, HoD , Won overall

championship award in MICE Fest – an inter-collegiate Management fest that was

organized by KMG college Gudiyattam on 20th

Our MBA students Won overall championship award in Talent hunt 2018 – an Inter-

collegiate Management fest organized by MKJC College, Vaniyambadi.

On 20th

Aug 2018, A batch of MBA students coordinated by Mr. Shaply Abdul Kareem,

HoD bagged First place in the Business quiz, pocketed second place in the Business

plan, won Title as “Best RJ” and “Mr.Tourierio” in Tourierio 2k19 – an inter-

collegiate Management fest organized by Priyadarshini Engineering College

Alumni Association meeting was organized by the department on 15th

Alumni from 2008 to 2018 batches participated and Mr. Vinoth of 2009 Batch was

appointed as General Secretary of MCA Alumni Association.

DEPARTMENT OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERING

The department‟s IIPE-Students Chapter and Thinking Lab, Vellore jointly

organized a Two day Hands on Training on "Robotics" on 28.12.18 & 29.12.18

Final Year Students visited “BHARAT HEAVY ELECTRICALS LIMITED

(BHEL)” Ranipet, on 28.07.2018. Through this visit, the students gained practical

knowledge on Electrostatic Precipitators, Fabric Filters, Air pre-heaters. Fans,

Wind Electric Generators, Ash Handling, Coal Handling Equipment, Desalination

Plants, Defense Systems, Gates and Dampers and Logo Frames.

Mr. M. Valavan, Dy. General Manager-Production, BHEL, Ranipet, Delivered a

guest lecture on “Recent Trends in Welding” for II year students on 21-07-2018.

INDIAN WELDING SOCIETY (IWS) student members visited SICGILSOl India

Pvt., Ranipet on 25.07.2018.

III year Students Visited “M/S P. CHANDRU MACHINE TOOLS, Katpadi,

Vellore on 21.07.2018 and 28.07.18. Through these visitsm the students gained

practical knowledge on Design & Manufacturing of special purpose machines,

Hydro Testing Machines for Valves, Material Handling equipments, Fixtures &

Machine Tool Accessories.

A Guest lecture on “Oil and Gas Career” was given by Mr. R. Sethuramalingam,

Managing Director, Om Petro Career Solutions Pvt. Ltd, Chennai-26 on

07.08.2018.

A Guest Lecture on “Materials & Metallurgy of Welding” was given by Dr. P.

Sathiya. Ph.D., Professor, Department of Production Engineering, NIT Trichy, on

11.08.2018.

A Guest Lecture on “MEP service in building Industries and Mechanical

Design” was given by Mr.Basheer Ul Ibrahim, MEP Engineer at Parma Project

Group on 11.08.2018.

A One day seminar on “3D-Printing Technology” was conducted for our students

on 16.8.18. Mr.M.Sugumaran, Head-CPD, CADD Centre-Chennai was the

keynote speaker.

A Career Guidance Program was arranged by the department for III and IV year

students on 21.08.18. The program was conducted by Mr.R.Bhaskar, Director,

Expandus Consultancy Services, Chennai.

A Career Guidance Program was arranged by the department for Final year

students on 31.08.18. The program was conducted by Mr.R.Balakrishnan,

Manager-academics, T.I.M.E. Management,Vellore.

Department conducted a One day seminar on "Recent Technology in Mechanical

Engineering" for the students on 01.09.18. Mr.Aravind, Design Engineer, Spiro

Group of Companies, Vellore addressed the students.

Department students presented their innovative projects in "Technological

Innovation club" Inaugural function held on 05.09.18

Final year students visited Bharatiya Nabhikiya Vidyut Nigam Limited

(BHAVINI), Kalpakkam, on 07.09.18

Indian Welding Society (IWS)- Student Chapter was Inaugurated by

Mr.M.Valavan, DGM, BHEL and Mr. N.Balamuragan, Sr.Engr, BHEL, Ranipet. on 08.09.18.

Our students participated in One Day National Level Workshop "VITAE 2018"

held at Velammal Engineering College, Chennai on 08.09.18

A National Level Technical Symposium "HAKMECH'18" was organized by the

department on 11.9.18.It was inaugurated by Prof.Dr.R.Ramanujam, VIT

University. More than 150 students from various colleges participated in this

symposium and showed their technical skills.

Final year B section students visited BHEL, Ranipet on 15.09.18

Our students participated in paper presentation at MIT, Chennai & Won Third

prize and in AMCET won First Prize.

Department conducted One day seminar on "Non Destructive Testing (NDT) for

our students on 01.10.18. Mr.Mohammed Vakil, Success NDT Institute of

Technology, Chennai addressed the students.

Mechanical Engineering IIPE-Students Chapter and CAE Center, Chennai jointly

organized a Two day Workshop of "3D Printing Technology in Manufacturing" on

05.10.18 & 06.10.18

DEPARTMENT OF AERONAUTICAL ENGINEERING

A group of 33 students with staff members made an Industrial visit to „UNITED

FOUNDARIES Pvt Ltd, Sipcot‟ on 24.07.18.

R. Sakthivel, of final year attended “World population day and Dengue awareness

program” on 26.07.18 and “Swach Bharath Internship program” on 28.07.18 at

Government Hospital, Pudhupadi village.

III and IV Year students attended “Aero Atelier 2018” a national level drone

Mr. T. K. SUNDRAMOORTHY, Retd., Scientist, ISRO, Bangalore delivered a

guest lecture on “ROCKET AND SPACECRAFT PROPULSION” on 07.09.18

DEPARTMENT OF CIVIL ENGINEERING

The Department did many Consultancy Works for Southern Railways and

generated a revenue about 1.20 lakhs.

The Department organized two Add-On courses on “Advanced Total station”

conducted by Ladder Survey Training Institute, Chennai and 43 II year students

attended the course.

A National Level Technical Symposium “Civi-O-Fest-18” was held on 12/09/18.

Dr.T.SHANMUGA PRIYA.M.E.,Ph.D., Vellore Institute of Technology, was

the Chief Guest. More than 150 students from various colleges participated and

showed their technical skills.

II & IV year students of civil made an Industrial visit to Kumar Ready Mix Plant on

11.12.18 and C.M.C Vellore.

Five Guest Lecture Programmes were organized by the department on “Space

Management in Buildings”, “Design of RCC Structures using Bentley STADD

Pro software” “Career Guidance for Civil Engineers”, “Emerging Trends in Civil

Engineering” & “Design software –SAFE” along with Two Workshops.

10 Industrial Visits were arranged by the department for students at UltraTech

Cement Plant, GK ReadyMix plant, Melvisharam Masjid Construction, SERC-

Chennai, Vellore Hotel G+7 Construction, Institute of Hydrology & Hydraulics

Research Center, Sathanur Dam & Muguntharayapuram Railway station for

gaining practical knowledge.

29 students underwent in plant Training at Space Designers.

DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING

An Industrial visit to U A Rao Satellite centre (ISRO), Bengaluru. was organized

on 19th

Jul. 2018. 46 final year students were accompanied by faculty members

C.Kotteeswaran, Associate Professor, R.Sugumar, Associate Professor (Co-

ordinator) and K.Bhuvaneshwari, Assistant Professor.

Mr.A. Azharudhin , an eminent personality from Moolya Software Testing

Pvt. Ltd., Banglore, , delivered a guest lecture on “Software Testing and It‟s Job

Opportunities” for final year students on 21st July 2018. He gave a very good

picture about how software can be tested and explained the significance of why

software should be tested. He also gave various inputs on how to select mini

projects and main projects.

The Department organized a two day workshop on ” Team Building and

Presentation Skills”. The Resource Person was Dr. L. Savitha Dhanasekar, Soft

Skills Consultant, SSS Soft Skills Training Consultancy,

Chennai on 27.07.2018 and 28.07.2018. Totally 60 final year students attended

the workshop in two batches.

The Department organized Second National Level Technical

Symposium “ELOQUENCE-18” on 8th Sep. 2018. Dr. P. Visu Ph.D.,

Associate Professor, Department of Information Technology, Velammal

Engineering College, delivered the key note speech. In the paper presentation

event, totally 20 papers were presented by the students from various colleges.

A Guest Lecture session on “CAREER GUIDANCE AND HIGHER

STUDIES” was held on Aug. 09, 2018 for IV and III year students. The lecture

was delivered by Mr.R BHASKAR, Director, Expandus consultancy Services,

Chennai. The lecture enabled the students to acquire knowledge in programming

languages, automation tools and understand the requirements for getting jobs in

core sectors. He spoke about the importance of computer science in various fields.

He motivated the students to do internship in the MNC‟s.

One day motivational programme on ATTITUDE RE-ENGINEERING

A One day motivational programme on ATTITUDE RE-ENGINEERING was

conducted for second year students on 28 Aug. 2018. It was a lively programme

for students with lots of brain storming activities and group discussion and was

an eye opener for students to set their desires to dreams then to destination. How

their inhibition could be overcome was demonstrated using roleplays. Students

participated with great enthusiasm. Interview readiness was also discussed. The

whole programme ended up successfully.

The Department organized the inauguration of “Red Hat Academy ” and one day

workshop on “RHA Orientation” in association with Coss India, Bengaluru on

1st Sep. 2018.

Big data and Hadoop workshop was conducted on 5 and 6 of Oct. 2018. Mr.

Mohamed Sadullah, Senior Analyst, Bank of America, Chennai was the

resource person. This two day workshop was to enlighten the students on latest

big data era. Students were taught about the concepts of big data, hadoop file

system, distributed processing, mapreduce, partitioning etc. The hands-on sessions

really helped the students in gaining insights into the methodologies used to

process huge data. The students were guided to do exercises on hadoop, hive,

impala and sqoop applications.

DEPARTMENT OF ELECTRONICS AND COMMUNICATION ENGINEERING

The department organized a two day hands on workshop for third year students in

“Ardino in proteus” on 16.8.18 and 18.8.18.Totally 70 students participated in this

workshop.

Technological club inaugural cum poster presentation event was organized by our

department for all III and IV year students on 5.08.2018. Prof. Ganesan from

TIFAC core VIT Vellore was the chief guest and he addressed the gathering.

The department conducted Parents meeting for II year students at ECE seminar

Hall on 25.6.18.

Our department organized TECHNOVIAL 18 (PROJECT EXPO,

PRESENTATION) event for motivating third and final year students to express

and showcase their research ideas .Mr B.A.Md Hashim and Dr.C.Md Yousuf were

the event coordinators.

The department organized a one day project expo 19 on 14.3.2019. 22 student

batches demonstrated their projects working module. Best of the three projects

were awarded.

A One day placement training was conducted for all the eligible final year students

by our department along with placement cell of CAHCET on 15.07.2018.

The department organized a Technical training program conducted by By manya

group Princeton review-Chennai. Totally 88 students of III year participated in

this training on 16.7.2018.

A Three day aptitude training program was conducted for all the III year students

by Our department along with placement cell of CAHCET from 20.6.2018 to

22.6.2018.

DEPARTMENT OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

A “Parents-Teachers Meet : 2018” was held on 7th

July 2018 to enrich students

educational experience.

“Mind over splatters”, a mock test was conducted by Mr. G.Balachandar, Software

Engineer and Mr. Venkat Ragvan, Android application developer in System

technology groups, Chennai on 21st July 2018.

An Industrial visit to Lansa Informatics Pvt Ltd, Coimbatore was arranged for III

year students on 21st July 2018.

A guest lecture on “Identify the Market Trends” was organized on 4th

August

2018. Mr. Imthiaz Shabeer Ahmed from Marvel Technologies inc., USA was the

Resource Person.

An Industrial visit to ISRO, Banglore was arranged for II year students on 6th

Aug. 2018.

An industrial visit to Lansa Informatics Pvt Ltd, Coimbatore was arranged for IV

year students on 14th
