- Description of the topic of your presentation:
The “Researchers’ Night” is an event organized by the Cyprus Research and Innovation Foundation in
collaboration with academic and research institutions as well as other organizations in Cyprus. The
event is an initiative of the European Commission and takes place simultaneously in almost all European
countries. The “Researchers’ Night” is a creative night-time event dedicated to science and research
through experiments, games, competition and music. Audiences of different ages have the opportunity
to meet up with Cypriot researchers and get informed about their work in a festive and friendly
atmosphere. In each stand, researchers present their work and inform the public about the role and
importance of research in the modern world as well as the impact of science in everyday life. At the
same time, participants have the opportunity to engage in hands-on experiments and become
researchers for one night!
Taking into consideration that the “Researchers’ Night” is an event that attracts people from all ages
and educational levels, the participation was through two activities in layman form:
− a poster presentation of ESR14 project’s objectives/activities and
− an illustrated interactive story-game explaining the evolution of antibiotic resistance and its spread
into the environment.
− an interactive quiz game with questions related with the water, wastewater reuse, antibiotics,
antibiotic resistance etc.
