Strong Points

KUHN GYRORAKE

Fixed headstock (G)... (Not available in all countries)

The “G” series Gyrorakes are equipped with a fixed headstock and pivoting wheels. This compact design minimises the rake’s weight and centre of gravity. Recommended fortractors with low lifting capability and for work on steep slopes.

Swath screen system

The parallelogram swath screen adjustment not onlyfacilitates setting the windrow width, but moreimportantly the screen is always in the best possibleposition in relation to the flow of crop from the rotor. This KUHN exclusive system is standard on GA 3201, 3501, 4121 and 4321 Gyrorakes

...or a Pivoting headstock (GM)

Mounted flexibility with trailed performance. Gyrorakes with a pivoting headstock perform in the same way as a trailed machine while raking. Working quality is constant,

even while following curves. Unrivalled manoeuvrability - increased productivity.

KUHN Gyrorakes: they have more than one trick up their sleeves

Cross-section of the GA 3201/GA 3501 gearbox

• Fully enclosed gearboxes. Drive parts are totally protected from dirt and water - increased service life.• Cam followers are always centred on the rotor axis. Constructed with pre-lubricated ball bearings that

require no maintenance - reduced friction and wear.• Progressive cam track curve. Minimises bearing loads while rotating arms form uniform, ideal windrow

structure in all types of crop.• The Masterdrive TM gearbox utilizes a bevel and “Bull-Gear”, two-stage, reduction drive. Tolerances in the

bevel reduction are thus tightly controlled for exceptional reliability and durability during intensive operation.• Tine arm supports fixed at top and bottom - Maintains proper alignment and increases strength.• Tangential double bent tine arms: clean raking and higher working speeds.

Additional support wheel

All Gyrorakes can be fitted with an additional support wheel atthe front of the rotor.Benefit: improved raking performance and perfect rotor groundcontour following.

Reduced transport width

For transport, most models of KUHN Gyrorakes have removable tine arms that are stored at the front of the rake. Notonly is the transport width minimised, but also the weight transfer on the tractor is reduced, thus improving tractor stabilityduring transport. Storage space requirements are also significantly reduced.

As the pioneer of Gyrorakes with guidedtine arms, the KUHN GYRORAKE hasalways been considered the “Gyrorake”.

The 3-point mounted GA 300 models are no exception to this rule. With theseGyrorakes a crop rich in leaves and fullof essential nutrients can be harvested.

This model is available with either afixed headstock (GA 300 G) or with apivoting headstock (GA 300 GM).

GYRORAKE GA 300 G - GA 300 GM

3.20 m / 10’6” working width

Fitted with 9 arms each with 3 double tines, the GA 300 Gand GM have a working width of 3.20 m / 10’6”. - The tine arms follow a cam profile that provides high

clearance in the windrow area. - This ensures the formation of even, fast drying windrows that

are free of stones.- The swath screen is adjustable to regulate windrow width as

well as fore and aft.

Well protected gearbox without maintenance

- The tine arm drive components are housed in a fully enclosed gearcase lubricated with grease. Drive componentsare protected from dirt and dust and there is no need toworry about oil leaks.

GA 300 GGA 300 G with fixed headstock: compactness andlight weight

Equipped with a fixed headstock, the GA 300 G forms a compact unit with a centre of gravity close to the tractor. Is recommended for work on steep hillsides, as the rake cannotdrift from the correct position behind the tractor, or with low liftcapacity tractors. For turns the rake is fitted with pivoting wheelsadjustable in height.

GA 300 GM with pivoting headstock:Manoeuvrability and mobility

The GA 300 GM with a pivoting headstock allows increasedmanoeuvrability and improved terrain following. - Raking quality and windrow shape is uniform, even around

corners. - While operating, manoeuvrability is similar to that of a trailed

implement. - Wheels are fixed but are adjustable in height with the use of a

simple selector lever.

GA 3201 G: with fixed headstock

- This rake is ideal for working on steep slopes. - With a fixed attachment to the tractor the rake will faithfully follow the tractor on the steepest slopes. - Fitted with pivoting wheels,- Machine height adjusted individually by means of a lever located on the wheel.

Ingenious swath screen adjustment

The patented swath screen design uses a parallelogram system.- No tools and minimal effort are required for adjustment. - When extended outward the screen automatically moves to

the rear, and while retracting the screen automaticallymoves to the front. In this way, the screen is always correctly placed in relation to the crop trajectory.

Reduced transport width of 1.75 m / 5’9”

- For significantly reduced transport width and storagerequirements the guards and swath screen are folded up.

- Easily detachable tine arms are then stored in a rack located at the front of the machine to reduce the tractor’slift requirement.

Rotor safety lock

All KUHN Gyrorakes with foldingguards, such as the GA 3201 and theGA 3501, are equipped with a rotor locking device. For improved safety, therake cannot be driven once the guardsare raised. When the rotor is locked, thestandard torque limiter protects the drivecomponents of the Gyrorake should thePTO drive be inadvertently engaged. Fitted with pivoting wheels, Machineheight adjusted individually by means ofa lever located on the wheel.

The answer to demanding raking applications

The GA 4121 GM (10 tine arms - 4.10 m / 13’5”) and the GA 4321 GM (12 tine arms - 4.20 m / 13’9”) offerexceptional capability. The greater number of tangentially mounted tine arms, allow operation at higher groundspeeds while maintaining a slower rotor speed. This ensures that the crop is raked both cleanly and gently. The double bent design of the tine arms (anotherKUHN patent) increase capacity and enable optimum raking of the crop. Perfectly formed, airy windrows are obtained that decrease drying time and improve the feeding capacity of the baler or forage harvester.

Fully enclosed gearbox

The GA 4121 GM/GA 4321 GM areequipped with a fully enclosed gearbox: increased reliability and service life.

GYRORAKE GA 4121 GM - GA 4321 GM

Maximum output!

GYRORAKE GA 4521 GM - GA 4521 GTH

With a working width of 4.50 m (14’9’’), 13 tine arms and bogie axles as standard, the GA 4521 GM (3-pt mounted) and the GA 4521 GTH (trailed) are amongst themost performing on the market. Even at high speeds, on irregular grounds, theyexcel in smoothing out bumps and holes. The distance between the ground and the tine tip is constant: no scraping of the grass stubble, no soiling of the crop. The MASTERDRIVE® gearbox which ensures maximum service life of the drivecomponents and the tangential tine arms providing optimum raking quality areother assets. Raking to the right for greater comfort of use. The drawbar trailedversion (GA 4521 GTH), is ideally suited to low power tractors.

Bogie axles are standard

- Fitted with bogie axles, the GA 4521GM / GA 4521 GTH have “all terrainability”. Bogie axles are a significantimprovement over single axles, impro-ving adaptation to changing groundcontours and increasing working speedand balance over irregular ground.

- Rake without losing forage or introdu-cing impurities thanks to the wheelspositioned closest to the tines.

Adjust windrow width and fold guards from the tractor

The windrow width adjustment can becontrolled from the tractor cab as option.

2.20 m / 7’3” transport and storage width- For transport and storage, the tine arms

are removed and stored at the front ofthe machine. The guards are also foldedup reducing the machine width to 2.20 m / 7’3”.

- For additional safety, lighting andsignalling elements are standard equipment.

GA 4521 GTH: Exceptional lift height

- Thanks to two hydraulic cylinders placed underneath the gear train andthe drawbar, the machine is raised horizontally for transport. The ground clearance thus obtainedalso facilitates crossing over alreadyformed windrows when work is finished.

- Parallelogram on the drawbar to prevent jammings at drawbar level.

No need to choose between clean raking and a clean crop!

GYRORAKE KUHN

The tangential tine position means improved windrow formation

The true tangential mounting of the tine arms providesthe advantage of cleaner raking, improved windrow formation, and increased forward speed when compared to other tine arm mounting designs. This is afeature of all KUHN Gyrorakes that eliminates the needfor additional tine arms or adjustable cams. The windrow formation is even better :- The crop is pushed towards the outside of the rotor, thus

towards the windrow,- A cleaner windrow for silage making and baling.

KUHN, the hi-tech

implement partner

of high-performance

forage and

livestock farms!

The PLUS point of the HYPER-TANGENTIAL drive

Kuhn rotary rakes are a key to higher quality hay and forage. Kuhn Gyrorakes Dry the Crop! Hay raked with a rotary rake will dryfaster than unraked hay. It will be ready for baling sooner, with less sun bleaching. And sometimes a few hours faster drying will mean a day or more faster baling when wet weather is forecast.Air dries the crop and you need to rake it to dry it!Proper use of rotary rakes makes better hay and forage. Kuhn rotary rakes gently rake hay, taking apart wet wads of hay, and building a fluffy windrow that lets air and sunlight in for faster drying. Other types of rakes can’t be used until the hay is dry. Other rakes mean more hay bleaching and leaf loss. Kuhn rotary rakes mean higher quality hay.

Extra clearance at crop exit point

Additional clearance provided at the exit point in comparison to a straight tine arm allows:

- The formation of larger, fluffier windrows- No risks of pulling crop out of the formed windrow

- Easier crop pick-up by the baler or forage harvester with minimum loss.

Page 15: Gyrorakes Single rotor - ARBO Klatovy · 6 GA 300 GM GA 300 G GA 300 G with fixed headstock: compactness and light weight Equipped with a fixed headstock, the GA 300 G forms a

Ways to obtain high value forage

A well formed windrow

Even when making large windrows the structure of the windrow is always loose, light and airy, facilitating faster drying and even pick-up by balers and forageharvesters.

KUHN’s asset:KUHN Gyrorakes (excludes GA 300 & 3201 G/GM models) are equipped with tine arms witha double curve (KUHN patent) which ensure a greater tine arm clearance over the windrow.

Only harvest crop

The tine height is accurately controlled to minimise ground contact, preservingboth the stubble and crop cleanliness. And wear on the rake is reduced.

KUHN’s asset:A wide wheel track and wheels positioned very close to the tines contribute to cleanerraking.

Rapidly and efficiently

Bogie axles not only place the weight of the rake on 4 wheels, reducing pressureon the ground, but offer a number of other advantages:- More consistent tine height - Reduced contact between the tines and soil- Improved raking action in all terrain conditions- Faster work rate- Smoother operation over uneven terrain.

Constant raking quality

All Gyrorakes with pivoting headstocks are equipped with wheels individuallyadjustable in height using a selector lever. This allows precise adjustment of therake’s height to ensure consistent quality raking, even in dense crops.

KUHN’s asset:On all Gyrorakes, both sides can be adjusted individually.
