Suwon Chicken Street Suwon Chicken Street is situated in an alley in Haenggu-ng-dong running from Paldalmun Gate to Janganmun Gate. Some eleven chicken restaurants serving roasted chikens, fired chikens and seasond chikens are always packed with visitors attracted to the alley by word of mouth.

Suwon Beef Ribs At barbecue restaurants in Suwon, 7cm cuts of beef ribs are served marinated and barbecued. The ribs used to be seasoned with salt, but these days they are sea-soned with soy sauce for a slightly healthier option.

Set Menu with Jangdankong (Paju)‘Jangdankong’ refers to soybeans grown in the Jangdan area - considered to be the best quality soybeans in Korea because they are cultivated in the pure environment of Paju. The Set Menu with Jangdankong consists of tofu and a rich soybean paste made with these soybeans.

Grilled Eel (Imjingang River)Eels are served marinated and grilled, after being deboned and boiled in a stock made of soy sauce, sugar, ginger, sesame, ground green onion, and garlic. The ‘Eel Town’ located near the Imjingang River in Paju is very famous.

Pocheon Beef Ribs Beef ribs are barbecued after being marinated in soy sauce, sugar, garlic, ginger, and clear rice wine. The ribs are cooked and served on a skewer.

Makgeolli (Pocheon)Makgeolli is made with pure water and the leftovers from the brewing of clean rice wine. Idong Makgeolli is made with mineral water from Baegundong Valley, which gives it its unique and delicate flavor.

Set Menu with Steamed Rice (Icheon)The Icheon Rice Festival is held every October to promote Icheon rice, which is widely recognized for its excellent quality and glossy, glutinous texture. The set menu with steamed Icheon rice is a Korean-style set meal consisting of rice served in a hot pot and various side dishes.

Sausage Stew (Uijeongbu)Sausage stew is cooked with gochujang (hot pepper paste), pork, sausage, kimchi, noodles, rice cakes, and tofu. Uijeongbu has long been renowned for its excellent sausage stew.
