Castanea Sativa
What is Butyric Acid?
Butyric acid is one of the major short chain fatty acids (SCFA) that are responsible for growth, function and differentiation of intestinal epithelium. 70% of energy for the epithelial cells is supplied by butyrates, salts of butyric acid. (G. Biagi et all, 2007)
What is Sweet Chestnut Extract?
The wood of sweet chestnut (Castanea Sativa) is particulary rich in tannins, water-soluble polyphenolic compounds. Application of tannin to the feed mixtures beneficially affects the dry matter content in the litter, improves body weight, reduces the number of E.Coli and coliform aerogenes bacteria in the small intestine (Jamroz et all, 2009)

This combined effect results in maximization of protein recovery from TMR by digestive system of the animal when daily 30 to 50 g of Farmatan D is given to cow.
Valorisation effect of tannins on protein concentrate Single addition of Farmatan D has a valorisation effect on proteins at 3 stages of digestion (improved RUP, liver protection, intestine digestion) which increases the flow of digestible proteins into intestines for digestion.
Sweet Chestnut extract with natural active
ingredients for ruminants
Liver protection due to natural Methionine addition effect.
Digestion of protein.
Better recovery of the proteins from the TMR.

What do farmers say about the Farmatan D:
c The product is easy to use, does not stick.
c More shiny hair, purer urine, less ammonia odour.
c More firm and green faeces.
c Yearly economic gain of 178 EUR per fattening bull.
c Increased market price of milk by an average of 27 EUR per 1000 l.
c Since Farmatan D I have less ammonia odour in buildings. It is a tool that allows me to achieve my goal.
