Like many custom frame manufacturers, Guru Cycles was founded by a passionate cyclist. With the belief that he could build a better bicycle than what was on the market, Tony Giannascoli set out as a pioneer in TIG welding steel frames, while his competition was sti l l building lugged brazed steel frames. Tony's frames were much lighter, and had a unique ride quality that quickly gained a following in the cycling community. In 1993 Guru Cycles was founded, employees were hired, and production was ramped up.

Today, Guru Cycles is renowned as a premier manufacturer of high-end bicycles in carbon fiber, titanium, and steel in both stock and custom geometries. Our approach to making frames is based on

Tony's original idea of combining cutting edge technology delivered by hand with an old school attention to detail. In our ultra modern manufacturing facil ity just north of Montreal, Canada, our passionate employees embody our ideal of quality craftsmanship. Guru Cycles engineers, designers, and production staff challenge themselves daily to produce the best frames in the industry. Each frame is brought to l ife through a high tech process where every detail is analyzed and perfected. New, innovative methods are continuously explored and developed to build high-performance bicycles, and the end result is a product of incredible craftsmanship, innovation, and quality. Guru Cycles has continuously been at the forefront of bicycle design, manufacturing, and materials.

Tony GiannascoliPresident/Founder Guru Cycles

“One of the highest stiffness to weight ratios ever

achieved in cycling."

The Photon HL creates an entirely new category for l ightweight frames: Hyperlight.

Guru’s Quantum Carbon Concept (QCC) is a breakthrough in carbon fiber construction technology. This development gave rise to new techniques that allowed our engineers and designers to push the envelope of stif fness and weight; culminating in the creation of the Photon HL.

Using the most complex carbon fiber lay-up in Guru’s history, the Photon HL requires a special time consuming one-man manufacturing process to build. The Photon HL is equipped with high-tech features, including the uniquely innovative Internal Adaptive Routing (IAR) that’s dual compatible with both mechanical and electric gruppos.

Sub-670 grams for a 54cm frame translates into one of the highest stif fness to weight ratios ever achieved in cycling. The Photon HL is in its own category above anything else currently on the market. We were so intent on creating the l ightest possible frame, that our master painters even developed a brand new proprietary sub 5 gram clearcoat dubbed Specter.

Engineered from the ground up to be incredibly stif f while remaining light, the Photon R is the epitome of ultimate stif fness to weight.

The Photon R delivers an aggressive feel without sacrificing the original Photon’s legendary ride quality. This frame was developed to surpass the stif fness numbers of industry leading frames while reducing weight. We achieved this ambitious objective and exceeded it by creating an unparalleled race frame that weighs under 800 grams for a 54cm size frame.

Racers dream of a stif f frame that performs. The Photon R more than delivers with 30% increased stif fness in the bottom bracket region over the original Photon. Torsional stif fness also jumps 30% for increased handling and precise cornering, while keeping the same figures in comfort and vertical compliance. Photon R converts spin directly into speed.

Available in custom and our Fast Forward Race stock geometries, each Photon R is built using our proprietary Optimum Ride Engineering (ORE) system and a composite lay-up driven by the rider’s height and weight. An expanded mix of high and standard modulus fibers are used to provide complete control of ride characteristics and uniformity.

“The SL continues the tradition of the best blend of

responsiveness and vertical compliance."

The Photon SL retains all of the best qualities of the original award winning Photon launched in 2010. As its successor, the SL continues the tradition of the best blend of responsiveness and vertical compliance – all this and sub-750 grams for a 54cm size frame.

Thanks to the Fast Forward Flex geometry and custom options, this frame’s incredible ride characteristics are harnessed and made available to all riders. The Smart Design Carbon Dropout (SDCD) present on the Photon series dramatically increases shifting precision. Optimum Ride Engineering (ORE) allows you to ride farther due to a tuned flex in the seat tube and a vertically compliant rear triangle. Power delivery is more efficient than the original photon due to 10% greater bottom bracket stif fness.

Overall stif fness of the Photon SL is 15% higher than the original Photon; which lets you ride faster as a result of a higher level of pedaling efficiency.

“The updated CR.901 is a pure triathlon machine that has been tuned from years of experience as specialists in tri."

Retaining all of the qualities of the original CR.901, 2014 marks the evolution of a superior product. Our engineers and designers collaborated to create improvements on the original CR.901 to satisfy the needs of elite triathletes and further develop our Sustainable Aero Theory (SAT). An aero position allows you to efficiently sl ice through the wind and SAT enables you to achieve the most aggressive position you can sustain comfortably for a long period of time.

Newly modified NACA profiles now yield superior aerodynamics and stif fness numbers. The oversized bottom bracket is 15% stif fer than the original CR.901 due to an improved carbon lay-up, and the head tube is more than 50% stif fer creating a more aggressive front triangle, enabling better steering. The new CR.901 features a new adjustable seat post which yields a wider range of saddle adjustabil ity. Offering Infinite Saddle Adjustabil ity (ISA) you wil l be in your ideal position, which translates into a more efficient power transfer.

Among the long list of upgrades, the CR.901 has interchangeable trap doors for easy internal routing and is both Di2 and mechanical compatible. Features also include a lower top tube for increased stand over clearance, an improved saddle clamp, better clearance for wide profile rims, and continues to be compatible with 11 speed grouppos.

The CR.901 is a pure triathlon machine featuring Fast Forward Aero (FFA) geometry; tuned from years of experience specializing in triathlon. We understand triathlon and have designed the ideal bike to help you achieve your personal best.

Guru's Fast Forward Geometry is based on a simple premise: A long history of building custom frames has culminated in our unique stock geometry. We recognize that not everyone may require custom geometry, nor be prepared to wait the necessary time required. Guru’s Fast Forward Stock framesets are built with the same techniques, engineering, time, and exacting quality that we adhere to when building our custom framesets. The result is that the consumer can now choose to ride one of our award-winning frames with a fast turn around and at a competitive price. The development of distinct platforms allows us to focus on creating synergies between the geometry (FFX, FFR, FFA) and the category-specific features of frames across a range of s izes.

Fast Forward Flex is an all -around geometry geared towards accommodating most r iders. The true benefit of this geometry is its f lexibi l ity to morph into either Race or Endurance positions. Not nearly as aggressive as Fast Forward Race, the geometry is nominally tal ler and shorter, while retaining aspects of a traditional race geometry.

Fast Forward Race is a true race geometry. Lower head tubes and longer top tubes accommodate road racers or seasoned veterans of the road. This geometry was developed to harness the maximum potential of the frame with regard to the rider’s physiology. FFR is geared toward riders who possess good flexibi l ity and are ready for a more aggressive race platform.

Fast Forward Aero is our tr iathlon-specif ic geometry. This geometry was developed over 14 years of building Tri specif ic frames and it explores Guru's Sustainable Aero Theory (SAT). A steeper tr i specif ic seat angle addresses the need for more opened hip angles. The result is a sustainable skeletally supported position uniquely suited for long course triathlon racing.

The integration of engineering, design, and craftsmanship as a global platform for the development of high-tech innovative framesets. A symbiotic methodology that pushes forward the best aspects of design and engineering to deliver the ultimate ride.

This innovative internal routing system provides for easy instal lation or conversion of mechanical or electric transmiss ion without having to use dedicated parts. The IAR system positions the cable stops at optimal locations on the frame to ensure crisp shif t ing and responsive braking.

The tube junctions are made with a unique layup that staggers the carbon layers to avoid stress r isers and evens out tube deformation.

The totally redesigned ful l carbon dropout is notably l ighter, stif fer and stronger than previous generations, enabling crisp and precise shif t ing.

Each tubeset made by Guru is produced with an attention to detail and a level of craftsmanship guaranteed to deliver the best r ide characteristics for each given s ize.

The asymmetric backbone (Chainstay - Down tube - Seat tube) of the frame is engineered to maximize power transmiss ion to the back wheel.

The incorporation of the tapered 1⅛ - 1½ head tube increases the front tr iangle stif fness to deliver razor sharp handling, super stable high-speed descents, and rock sol id braking.

We continuously strive to push the boundaries of manufacturing technology to create innovative features that have real world benefits for Guru riders.

The new seat post rai l system provides an unlimited front to back adjustment range. This range allows for the triathlete to be in the most ideal position for ult imate power transfer and is UCI compatible.

The frame is designed so that the rider can achieve the most aggressive position that can be sustained comfortably.
