Gullivers Travels

Author: Jonathan Swift

Text Illustrated by Charles E. Brock

This book is called Gullivers Travels. The authors name is Jonathan Swift. When you read this book you will find the author Jonathan has a great imagination.

This book is a fantasy book. It happens mainly in England or near by. It starts around May 4, 1699. The main places are Lilliput and Brobdingnag.

Gulliver had many adventures and my favorite one of them takes place in Brobdingnag when the giant monkey fed Gulliver and Gulliver nearly choked on the food the monkey gave him. So the king and queen ordered that the monkey was to be killed. This was after Gulliver went to Lilliput. He had an extraordinary adventure that was weird but cool.

In his amazing adventure Gulliver travels on a ship that shipwrecks. He is the last survivor but was knocked out. He was captured by little people. The adults were were six inches tall. How he got away was he found a broken boat and fixed it.

He sailed in the ocean and landed on the land of the giants called Brobdingnag, and he was abandoned by the crew. Gulliver saw huge people and grass surrounding him. He admired the giants. He thought that both the Lilliputians and the Brobdingnagians were amazing.

Gulliver is the most important character in the book. Glumdolwich is the nurse of Gulliver in Brobdingnag. The king and queen of Brobdingnag help Gulliver by killing the giant monkey. The emperor of Lilliput stops the other Lilliputians from hitting Gulliver with bows and needles.

I thought that this book was good because it was funny because the giant monkey and the big birds fight over him and the big bees sting him. It was not very sad. The only sad part was when he shipwrecked and most of his friends died.
