JamFESTOPENTITLEENTER­$25ThepurposeoftheJAMFESTcategoryistoencouragetheALLAROUNDPerformertobeabletoplayALLSTYLESofmusicontheiraccordionandtobeproficientonseveralineachstyle.OPEN Button (Tex/Mex, Conjunto, Norteno, Vallenato) – be prepared to play 1 of each of 3 styles – Ranchero/Polka, Waltz or Redova, or Schottishe/Cumbia/Huapango. OPEN Cajun/Zydeco – be prepared to play a Two Step, Waltz, or Shuffle. OPEN Piano/Chromatic – be prepared to play a Waltz, Polka, and/or Standard/Classical. *******************************************RoundOne‐Eachcontestantwillbeallowedupto7minutestoperform2selectionsofvaryingstyles(novocalsallowed)Round1–Contestantchoice.NoMedleysallowed.Nomusicwillbepresentedtothejudges.Upto3NON‐Accordioninstrumentaccompanimentswillbeallowed.Oneguitarstyleampwillbefurnishedwith3microphone&Drumset‐stagesetup.Theaccompanist(s)shouldbringtheirowninstruments,cablesandtheaccordionistwillbeallowedtouseamplificationorthemicrophone.Accordioncanbeacousticorelectronic.TherewillbeNODELAYSinthecompetitionforsetup.Contestantwillbedisqualifiesfornotbeingpreparedtoplayinatimelymanner.Round Two - Expect 2 to 3 ROUNDS to determine top winners. The Judges will determine how many songs and how long for each – and judges will ask each contestant to perform a particular style or two. Scoring : There are no Evaluation sheets written that will be delivered to contestants. We will sum the scores from round to round. After the first round, the judges, using the scores will determine the contestants to be called back for the next round. Rounds will continue until the judges are able to rank and reward contestants, as determined by aggregate scores. We will not post aggregate or individual scores. Scoring will be based on

1. Proper delivery of the style song 2. Overall musical quality, technique, chord structures, etc. 3. Degree of Difficulty of selection 4. Ability to develop the selection showing variations when repeating. 5. Audience appreciation and appeal and stage presence. In other words – enjoy your music and let

the audience see you enjoying it!
