EXOTIC SERIES INSTRUMENTSThere are three signature Breedlove heritage models that exemplify the true prodigy of Breedlove’s Distinctively Crafted Sound. Three pioneers of Breedlove innovation, created these iconic instruments. The Breedlove Fingersylist Concert was the original Breedlove body design created by Larry Breedlove. CM BODY SHAPEDesigned in 1992, the CM put Breedlove on the map with unique design and distinctively crafted sound. Built on Breedlove’s Concert shape, with an asymmetrical twist, this innovative award-winning design captures the essence of Breedlove’s imaginative challenger mental-ity. No other guitar looks or sounds quite like it. The sonic imprint of the CM is uniquely full spectrum and immensely gratifying; the lower bout rewards the player with a generous, defined bass, while the abbreviated up-per bout generates beautifully balanced and clear treble tones. The CM is excellent for alternate tunings and has been described as having piano-like qualities. If you wish to expand your sonic and aesthetic boundaries, the CM is an adventurous design that will deliver in spades.

CONCERT BODY SHAPEThe Breedlove Concert is the original Breedlove shape. It first appeared in 1992, and has been the best-selling Breedlove body shape ever since. Designed specifically for the fingerstylist to be well balanced, compact, and comfortable to play, it generates a wonderfully articu-late range of tone with an ample low end that is never boomy, but always felt. The unique construction also al-lows the Concert to sing even at a full strum. If you’re a fingerstylist, or are seeking an instrument to use as vocal accompaniment, this is the shape for you.

The Concert is engineered to provide exceptional sustain with a pronounced bass response, both of which can be achieved with a light touch. AUDITORIUM BODY SHAPEKim Breedlove designed the Auditorium body shape in 2005 for a sound that falls between the intimacy of the best-selling Concert and the deeply resonant power of the Jumbo. An extremely responsive and versatile shape, the Auditorium’s depth and lower bout produce the articulation of the Concert with tonal depth reminiscent of the larger-bodied Jumbo. When played acoustically, this shape has the volume and projection to fill a room, plus added clarity, balance, and sustain due to the magical combination of the larger body with the Breed-love Bridge Truss, and a thinner graduated top. The Bridge Truss allows the top to move more freely so melodies and fingerpicking won’t get lost. BREEDLOVE ASYMMETRICAL HEADSTOCK:

Concert, Auditorium, and 12-String body shapes. This headstock isn’t just a pretty shape – it’s specifically designed to keep the strings in a straight, even line from the nut to the tuning pegs. The result is even tension, stable tuning, and ease of alternate tuning. BREEDLOVE NECK DESIGN:

Breedlove guitar necks feature a slimmer neck profile

which enables comfortable play, even with smaller hands. Unlike traditional dovetail neck joints that re-quire major surgery for a neck re-set, it is easy to adjust the play action and neck angle with the Breedlove bolt-on neck and single-action truss rod. The hand-rubbed, semi-gloss Breedlove neck finish contributes to ideal playability – the finish process alone takes three days, including precise finish coat applications, fine sanding, and hand buffing and rubbing.

BREEDLOVE PINLESS BRIDGE:

The Breedlove Pinless Bridge helps maintain the integrity of the top by eliminating the need for six drilled string holes. The fewer holes in your soundboard, the more even-ly the sound wave can move across the interior, without any loss of energy. The Breedlove Pinless Bridge also provides a gentler string-break angle from the bridge to the top of the saddle, reducing saddle strain. This innovative bridge also makes string changes a breeze, especially on 12 strings. Plus, you’ll never again have to worry about lost, worn-out, or broken bridge pins.

BREEDLOVE GRADUATED TOPS:

Breedlove graduated tops, featured on select models, contribute stunning balance from lows to highs. How? Graduated tops are slightly thicker on the treble side, balancing the higher energy treble frequencies with the lower energy bass frequencies traveling through the thinner bass side. The result: clearer, cleaner highs and stable, resonant lows. Because no two soundboards are exactly the same, Breedlove craftsmen evaluate each top for stiffness and density, and then graduate it accordingly. The amount of graduation is customized for each individual instrument. The top is sanded to the precise graduated thickness to achieve optimal flexibility and stiffness. This hands-on process is one of the major contributors to the Breedlove sound.

BREEDLOVE BRIDGE TRUSS (BBT):

Select models feature the Breedlove Bridge Truss – most commonly the Concert and Auditorium shapes found on pages 24 - 35. The BBT reduces tension on the soundboard of the guitar, so the top wood is able to vibrate more freely, producing remarkable sustain, balance, and clarity. The BBT also allows for a thinner graduated top, thereby allowing Breedlove craftsmen to bring out the optimal sound from the top wood without sacrificing structural stability. Relieving much of the string tension from the bridge prevents “bridge belly,” ensuring top stability for decades. Guitar strings can exert up to 230 pounds of pull from the nut to the bridge. Traditional methods for preventing top bowing at the bridge usually involve heavy internal bracing and thicker tops. The BBT compensates for this pressure in an innovative way: The BBT is mounted to the bridge from the inside and is connected into the tail block of the guitar, pulling downward on the underside of the bridge to distribute some of the tension, relieving pressure on the top. The resulting tonal effect on BBT-equipped guitars is more resonance and livelier sound with enhanced overtones.
