Guitar Syllabus MVS 1016/1318 Welcome to a new semester here at SPC and we are looking forward to working with you. Our ambition is to help you achieve success with your career goals. The best job for you is one in which you enjoy for a lifetime. Required Materials: 1) Guitar 2) Tuner 3) Metronome 4) Book-Designated Absences: If unable to attend for any reason-please call me 24 hours in advance at 727- 421-1956 and we will discuss an alternative to reschedule where possible. Occasionally lessons will be rescheduled when the instructor is performing. Three unexcused absences will result in the grade being lowered by one letter grade. Repertoire: The instructor will seek out the goal and the objective of the student which will result in a customized course to meet the demand along with the instruments fundamentals. Rhythms and basic hand techniques will be emphasized to prepare the student for the rigors of a professional or amateur career. Grade: The grade will be based on the following: 1) Quality of your weekly preparation of lesson material 2) Performance and participation in class 3) Completion of assigned homework 4) Outside performance or attendance The grade will be adversely affected by: 1) Non-attendance of lessons 2) Non-completion of assigned homework 3) Non-preparation or minimal practice 4) Attitude
