MERIT-BASED INCENTIVE PAYMENT SYSTEM (MIPS) REPORTING Using Reg-ent, participants can report all required MIPS performance categories, including Quality, Promoting Interoperability (PI), and Improvement Activities (IA).

RESEARCH Reg-ent will serve as a national data repository of otolaryngology-specific data that may be mined for research purposes.

QUALITY IMPROVEMENT AND CLINICAL EFFECTIVENESS Reg-ent will utilize longitudinal data to identify gaps in performance and gaps in care provided at both the individual practitioner and system levels.

PAYER VALUE & ALTERNATIVE PAYMENT MODELS Reg-ent will affirm effectiveness and define quality of care provided, utilize data to more effectively work with public and private payers on quality patient care, and prepare for participation in virtual groups.

QUALITY MEASURES DEVELOPMENT Reg-ent is actively engaged in measures development covering the depth and breadth of the specialties of otolaryngology–head and neck surgery.

MAINTENANCE OF CERTIFICATION Reg-ent will have the potential to provide data to the American Board of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery (ABOHNS) to satisfy MOC requirements.

REG-ENT IS SECURE Each participating practice retains ownership of its practice

data and the AAO-HNSF retains ownership of the aggregate data in Reg-ent.

All identifiable patient information is stored on a secure, HIPAA-compliant cloud-based server.

All Reg-ent participants are assigned unique login credentials to allow access to Reg-ent through a secure website.

All data extraction and upload activity is fully encrypted.

GETTING STARTED WITH REG-ENTReg-ent uses a Registry Practice Connector (RPC) to securely access, query, and transfer data from your EHR to the servers supporting Reg-ent. If your EHR data is in the cloud, or if you practice in a health system or academic medical center, Reg-ent will work with both the practice and the EHR vendor to push your practice data to the registry, which requires additional engagement from both the practice and the EHR vendor.

REG-ENT ASSURES DATA QUALITYFor both push and pull sites, active participation by the practice is required to assist with the data mapping refinement process and review of data performance on the practice’s Reg-ent dashboard. To ensure that the quality of the data in Reg-ent is complete, valid and reliable, FIGmd has a multistep process for data exploration, data yield analysis, and data accuracy. In addition, Reg-ent conducts quarterly randomized audits to review and verify the data in Reg-ent.

MEMBERSHIPAll otolaryngologists and allergists must be members of the AAO-HNS in order to participate in Reg-ent. Non-physician providers do not need to become members of the AAO-HNS to participate in Reg-ent.
