    Dear friends,

    I am suggesting that there should be a memorandum for the recruitment process of the LL.M.

    I have prepared a draft memorandum for this purpose but you can suggest amendments in it

    at your discretion:

    Draft Memorandum for theRecruitment of LL.M

    1. There shall be a Law Recruitment Core Committee (LRCC) for LL.M. that will work

    in the interest of the General Body (consisting of all the students interested in campus

    placement).

    2. The LRCC shall consist of such number of members as elected/nominated by the

    General Body. Each member of the LRCC shall also be the part of General Body in

    his individual capacity.

    3. All the decisions in LRCC and General Body shall be taken by 2/3 majority. In case

    of dispute over any issue in LRCC, the matter shall be brought before the General

    Body, where it will again be decided by the 2/3 majority.

    4. The LRCC shall work in a transparent and reasonable manner, so that the interest of

    all the students forming General Body will be protected.

    5. Both the LRCC or the General Body shall have the power to convene combined

    meetings for any of the purposes mentioned in the this memorandum or when it is

    necessary to do so.

    6. The LRCC shall be responsible and shall act in accordance with the wishes of theGeneral Body. The General Body shall have the power to supervise the functioning of

    LRCC and shall also have the power to dissolve it.

    7. The General Body shall have the power to remove/add/substitute any member of

    LRCC from the committee.

    8. The General Body may take appropriate action against any member of LRCC or

    accountant, found guilty of fraud or mistrust.

    9. Recruitment Policy of the LRCC :

    a) Soon after its formation, the LRCC shall frame a Recruitment policy.

    b) The Recruitment policy shall be laid before the General Body.

    c) The General Body shall have the power to review the policy or send it back,

    with proposed amendments, to the LRCC for the reconsideration.

    d) The General Body shall have the final say on the Recruitment Policy.

    10. Group mail id and Mobile phones:

    a) Soon after its formation, the LRCC shall create a group mail id and add all the

    students of General Body in it.

    b) The group id shall be used as the primary and the main medium of communication

    between the LRCC and the employers or between the LRCC and the General

    Body so that all the students taking part in the placement process will remain

    aware of such communications and placement-offers.

    c) In addition to that, the LRCC may purchase number of mobile phones and sim

    cards, in a reasonable price, to communicate with the employers.

    7. Expenses by the LRCC:

    a) The LRCC shall make an estimate for the future expenses and lay it before the

    General Body. The General Body shall have the power to review the expenses or

    send it back to the LRCC for the reconsideration. In accordance with this agreed

    estimate amount, the money, which should be contributed by each member of

    General Body, will be determined.

    b) The LRCC shall also open a Bank account (if there is no previous account for the

    purpose) in a name of the nominated/elected accountant.

    c) All the expenses done the LRCC have to be pre-sanctioned by the General Body

    and therefore the previous approval of the General Body in this regard must be

    taken.

    d) The General Body shall have the power to release advance money not exceeding

    5000 Rupees for miscellaneous expenditures. The account of which shall be given

    to the General Body in the next meeting.

    8. Accountant to maintain the account:

    a) There shall be an Accountant, nominated/elected by the General Body, who will

    release reasonable fund to LRCC when necessary.

    b) The Accountant shall collect the money from each member of the General Body

    and the money so collected by the accountant shall be deposited in the Bank

    account.

    c) All the transactions with Bank shall be done by the signature of the Accountant,

    and therefore he will be personally responsible for the proper account of the

    money collected by him.

    d) In each meeting, the accountant shall submit a xerox copy of the account book

    and, if necessary, the updated passbook of the bank.

    e) The accountant shall be responsible to the General Body for his duties and the

    General Body shall have the total superintendence and control over the

    accountant.

    9. Collection of data of the employers:

    a) The members of the LRCC shall collect the data of the employers, soon after its

    formation, and shall summarise it in a proper manner.

    b) The data so collected by the members shall remain confidential and shall not be

    shared with the individual members of the General Body until the completion of

    the recruitment process.

    c) The General Body may appoint such persons to supervise the functioning of the

    LRCC as it deems fit.

    d) The data so collected by the LRCC shall be submitted before the General Body in

    the last meeting after the completion of the recruitment process together with its

    final report on the recruitment.

    e) The LRCC shall make such rules and regulations for the collection of data of

    employers which are necessary for the transparent and unbiased functioning of the

    committee. The General Body should be taken in confidence on such rules and

    regulations.
