What is Coaching?

Let’s start by what it is not….

Coaching is not therapy, although it may use psychology and therapy tools

Coaching is not mentoring nor consulting, although at times, a coach might make suggestions

What coaching is

A partnering between a coach and you, in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires you to maximize your personal and professional potential

A sounding board, an accountability partner, and an expert who will support you and will stretch you outside your comfort zone to help you reach your goals, and beyond...

Your coach is part of your support and success team…choose them wisely …

When to Hire a Coach

✔ You have goals you want to accomplish: running a marathon, being promoted, changing careers, starGng your own business

✔ You are not happy where you are but you are not unhappy either. You are in that place of in-between, where the prospect of siHng too comfortably outweighs the perceived pain of change

✔ When you are stuck at a dead end. Whether in your job, in your life and anything in between

✔ And let’s not forget, that nagging feeling inside of you, that something is missing, but what?

What to Look for when Hiring a Coach

Coaching is not a regulated business, and like in any other profession, you will find the good and the bad and some ugly. This is a list of what to look for to find your match

✔ Best way, ever? Word of mouth. Ask around you for a recommendaGon

✔ Social media – start following those who inspire you and that you resonate with, subscribe to their newsleQer, schedule a free consultaGon call with them

✔ Their credenGals and other qualificaGons, cerGficaGons and educaGon

✔ The vibe and chemistry you get when talking to them

✔ Their experGse, their tools and methods

When speaking with a coach, do you have that, yes! She gets me?. That’s the one!

When Laura started working with me, she

was questioning her motivation to get out of bed every day to get to her job as a highly paid and recognized lawyer in a prestigious law firm. In her mid-40s, Laura was the epitome of what is called ‘successful’: Living in downtown Austin with her three kids and her always-busy husband who also had a multi-six figure career.

She looked for coaching with the hope that she could find her REAL purpose in life; something that could make her alive again: ‘her passion’. A career that could give her time and energy to be with her kids, and that would allow her to take care of her body. She was frustrated with working just for ‘the money’ while stockpiling more resentments and frustrations toward her job, her boss, her family, and even money itself. She couldn’t stand this anymore.

During the Incubator phase of the coaching program, we explored how Laura could change her behavior at work. Using various tools, she learned the power of cultivating healthy boundaries, while stepping into her leadership at the same time. With the Accelerator phase, she allowed herself to explore options and to let go of the idea that starting afresh was impossible.

The results? She got promoted a year ahead, with a paycheck to match; she changed her outlook on her job and on her life, and opened herself to new opportunities outside her known fields of expertise.

While she could start any project and put long hours into the job, she couldn’t complete many of these projects as her energy was into too many things at the same time. At times, she would lose interest in her projects just as fast as she started them.

‘I am all over the place’ - She told me when first we met. She knew she could easily get ahead in her career if only she could find her zone of genius and work smarter on her projects without working for 12 hours a day with the hefty price of sacrificing her relationships too.

What Emily needed, was to refocus her energy towards her top priorities.

This is what she did throughout the Incubator and Accelerator programs. Throughout our coaching together, Emily was able to regulate her energy and laser focus her attention on her priorities. She extended her network of professional and personal relationships. She took her time to test and try new avenues, and ultimately, scored a job that allowed her expansion in her career and fulfillment in her life.

When you start the process of choosing the life you want, you realize you can do -and be- so much more than what you think is possible...

When Emily started the Career and

Life Coaching Incubator Program, she was in her late 20s, working as an execuGve in a high-tech startup. She had an amazing compensaGon package including unlimited vacaGon days! A self-starter, ambiGous, and a high achiever, she was also a powerful networker. She knew many senior execuGves in her industry.

How?

By taking the first step and addressing the elephant in the room: the stress and the pressure they are putting on themselves.

By rediscovering their zones of genius and unlocking their hidden resources for the next move in their career and relationships.

By examining what was getting in the way of giving themselves more permission to enjoy their lives.

Though neither Laura nor Emily felt op<mis<c about how to recharge their careers and lives, it was HOPE that made them start the coaching process.

If we haven’t met already:

My story is one of changes, of ‘life happens’, and of many reinventions. Raised in the Middle East, then in France, moved to London and now living in New York City.

From trading floors to private equity, to corporate finance, equities and derivatives; for more than 16 years, I held different positions in the fast-paced, demanding environment of investment banking.

I was Head of Equity Syndicate for the Americas when an advanced cancer hit…

Cancer forced me into another personal reinvention ...

The only constant is CHANGE...

Finding breakthroughs in <mes of breakdowns:I had to make the choice between what I knew – the recogniGon and the nice paycheck with its hecy price tag of overwhelm, the stress, and the pressure of the job; and taking that leap of faith into the great unknown – quiHng a job I could do with my eyes closed, starGng a new career, making a living out of it.

The choice became clearer, as what I had tolerated for so long was no longer acceptable.

The Jme had arrived…

I asked for help. I got a wonderful coach and mentor to guide me through the predicament Gme. My personal reinvenGon unfolded into soul searching, training, and more cerGficaGons.

I decided to review the many compromises that had led to the crisis:

All those moments when I said ‘NO’ to myself, to my family, to my friends, and to my body to keep up

with my high-demanding job.

Coming out of the breakdown:

Today, my mission is to help executives working in fast-paced industries let go of all the compromises and create a better environment for themselves, at work and outside, living a life is truly fulfilling and satisfying.

Over the last year alone, I have mentored over 200 high-achievers from all walks of life to review their lives and career paths.

I witnessed their passion come back.

I witnessed new levels of purpose, expansion and productivity in their lives.

They received the promotions they never thought possible.

They found a high-paying job after a layoff or long career pauses.

They accessed their higher purpose, their voice, and their creativity again.
