Swamp Gravy: Live and Learn in ColquittFor the past twenty years, community members in Colquitt have been creating their own success story.

They’ve collectively written, composed, and performed original storytelling theatre, and in doing so haverevitalized their dying town. The show is called “Swamp Gravy,” a reference to a tomato-based concoction

that, like the piece itself, varies in ingredients and is full of local flavor. This community-based play uses true stories told by the residents

of Miller County, and though these stories are from small-townGeorgia, they reveal some deeper truths about humanity as a whole. With the aid of professional theater collaborators, Swamp Gravy isperformed by approximately 100 volunteer citizens of the town eachyear. Swamp Gravy presents a new show every October with aremount every March.

Swamp Gravy: Live and Learn is the title of the 20th anniversaryshow. It follows the true stories of several community members asthey learn who they really are and what truly matters in life. The stories were collected from locals and then adapted into a script by

Will Murdock, who began acting in Swamp Gravy when he was 13. For tickets, call 1-800-514-3849. Forinformation, call 229-758-5450 or visit www.swampgravy.com.
