Our Standard Spray Finish does not require wiping, so the stain on the wood surface gives a vibrant visual pop to the finish. That helps blend discrepancies in the wood grain and gives a smooth, consistent appearance as durable as it is beautiful.

Glaze is applied on a spray finish as ‘hang-up only’ to accent edges and crevices on corners and profiles without affecting the base stain color. Glaze/Spray Finish accentuates designs and shapes for an aged, comforting quality.

Distressed Finish on a spray stain has a ‘hang-up only’ glaze and looks best with lighter techniques such as bird pecking and random distressing for a time-worn, artistic look. For heavier distressing, we recommend hand-wiped stain and glaze.

The Standard Wiping Finish is applied by hand to penetrate and develop the grain, resulting in a satiny finish with unique character that reveals the wood’s true beauty.

Our enamel finishes have a primer tinted to match the finished enamel color. This gives a more consistent finished color that wears better over time. Beautiful Woodharbor enamels are true enamels and not an opaque stain.

The glaze of Glaze/Wiping Stain is hand-applied over the entire surface, leaving a glaze hang-up in crevices and corners for increased vibrancy, depth of color and a distinctively warm look. This process slightly tints the base stain color.

The Classic Finish intensifies color through a two-step staining process. This accentuates grain pattern and adds dimension for a deep, lustrous finish that suggests the look of fine furniture.

Rustic Finishes use various stains, glazes and hand detailing (such as distressing, wormholing and dry-brushing) for an old-world, fine-furniture look.

Glazed Enamel Finish is applied as ‘hang-up only’ to accent edges and crevices on corners and profiles, not the entire surface. This will not affect the base enamel color.

Heritage uses two primer coats tinted to match the enamel color with rub-through detailing, plus spatter and a matte sheen topcoat for an appealing, time-worn look.

Brushed Glaze/Enamel Finish uses an artistic technique that leaves brush marks in the enamel to add depth, texture and a beautiful aged look with a hand-painted feel.

Olde Paint has an underlying stain to give the appearance of staining prior to painting for a nicely aged look. Then we apply two primer coats tinted to match enamel color with the rub-through detailing, as well as with the spatter and matte sheen topcoat.

Vintage starts with subtle hand distressing, then an underlying stain and two primer coats to match the enamel, plus rub-through detailing. Finally we apply a brushed stroke, add spatter and add a matte sheen topcoat – all for a rich antique look.

Sawyer starts with several types of distressing for a worn, aged look. Next we apply two primer coats tinted to match the enamel color with rub-through detailing, which includes random knots and knife cuts. Then comes a special brush stroke technique. Finally, a matte sheen topcoat is used to enhance Sawyer’s rich appearance.

Paintable finishes use hardwood on face frames and stiles & rails of doors and drawer fronts. A smooth substrate (MDF) is used for doors, drawer front panels, slab drawer fronts and plywood components. Subtle telegraphing of the grain is visible.
