It has been compiled froma wide variety of publicly available resources. The guide is in no way making recommendations— just supplying useful information. Every efforthas been made to ensure that the data is accurateand current at the the time of publication. How-ever, some businesses may close, but their detailsare still shown on the internet. Mobile numbersshown for businesses also change quite often,so check the company website first and then tryusing the landline instead. Restaurant opening andclosing hours do also vary. MoneyThe currency is the Kazakh tenge. Coins are of1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50 and 100 value. Notesare of 200, 500, 1000, 2000, 5000 and 10,000denominations. Some ATM machines will giveyou US dollars and on very rare occasions euros.All transactions can be carried out in English.Most shops and restaurants take the major creditcards – but there are some exceptions, so checkfirst.
