Camp Pencil Point 10:30, 11:30, 1:30, 2:30, 4:30 and 5:30 The Camp Pencil Point Drawing Workshop will teach you drawing basics, encouraging creativity and, most importantly, having fun! Each drawing workshop takes place once every hour during Maker Faire. Seating is limited.

10:30 Wonders of Wood: Innovative Uses of Forest Biomaterials Bob Ross, USDA Forest Service Learn about innovative uses of wood in a wide variety of products and applications, including historic ships, skyscrapers, drones and electronic parts. Participants will use ultrasound imaging to evaluate wood samples.
11:15 Eastern Market: Innovation in Food Sourcing Panel Discussion (approx. 45 minutes) Eastern Market features farmers and their wares every Saturday in its downtown Detroit location. Market staff will share innovative steps they take to support regional food producers and ensure points of sale that link farmers to customers in the city.
12:15 Sonic Apocalypse Carleton Gholz, Detroit Sound Conservancy Using Detroit as a case study in sonic apocalypse, Gholz will outline the risks and opportunities for cultural preservation in a time of economic austerity and political crisis.
