A green path connects the historic city center with the harbor, the museum and the park. The whole museums complex is open and accessible with its differ-ent levels connected to an exciting topography. Pedestrian routes over the whole building and the promenade offer a wide range of activities. Such as a sculpture garden, a rooftop bar and restaurant with great view, an openair auditorium and much more.Built with wood and natural stone and all that green it’s a symbol for environmental consciousness and sustainability, for a green world.

Clear units make it easy to discover the museum and all its differ-ent parts. Pedestrian ramps connect all levels. A large foyer is the center for the public area, it offers access to all spaces, exhibition galleries, multifunctional space, ticketcenter, infopoint, bookshop and café.All exhibition galleries are very flexible with different heights and wide open spaces for all kind of art pieces and exhibitions. Huge openings connect some of the levels with the green roofs that can be used for exhibition or just to relax outside. A large ramp is as well a reference to the Guggenheim of F.L.Wright as to the topography of Helsinki, its like walking on a green hill.

An wide ramp on the back of the building allow an easy delivery of any kind of goods. The Terminal is hosted in a separate building that can be connected with the museum. Different entrances for ex-hibitions galleries, auditorium, restaurant and offices allow an in-dependent use of the building, fe the restaurant can be visited then the museum is closed. The green roofs and the bridge to the park could also be used indepently.
