The Guardianship Service Board (GSB) was the first ever public guardian program in the State of Ohio.

The GSB was the vision of Judge Robert G. Montgomery, Franklin County Probate Judge and with the collaborative effort of the Alcohol, Drug and Mental Health Board of Franklin County (ADAMH) and the Franklin County Board of Developmental Disabilities (FCBDD) Ohio Revised Code 2101.026, Franklin County Probate

Court Mental Health Fund was enacted on September 29, 2013.

The GSB may establish a guardianship appointment by way of the Franklin County Probate Court’s Guardianship Department and the Franklin County Probate Court’s investigative staff.
