We are fortunate at Guardian Angels to have a Food Pantry

to help with the needs of the hungry in the Westport/

Roanoke area. While we do utilize Harvesters

for the majority of our food supplies, we also

depend on the generosity of parishioners.

Current Needs in the Pantry: Tuna, canned

corn, laundry detergent.

There are no meetings this week. Have a safe and happy summer!

Guardian Angels Staff Members

Sacristans Needed

We have openings for Sacristans to assist with the 5:30

pm masses during the week at Guardian Angels. Sac-

ristan duties vary by church, but typically they will:

• Prepare the Holy Eucharist for the celebration of the

mass, which includes readying the wine, water and

bread and putting them in place for the start of the

mass.

• Arrange any needed books.

• Arrange ciborium and vessels.

In addition, Sacristans need to be reliable and organized.

No experience is necessary. If you are interested in this

ministry please contact Deacon Tyrone, after July 12.

The Holy Name Society’s annual

Horse Races and Taco dinner will

take place on Saturday, August 11,

2018. You won’t want to miss this

one!

Fr. Carlito is in the office every

Thursday from 9:30 am—4:30pm. If

you would like to meet with Fr. Car-

lito on Thursday, please email him at

[email protected]. Fr.

Carlito also says daily mass at Guardi-

an Angels at 5:30 pm, with reconcilia-

tion taking place from 4:45pm—5:15 pm.

We are in need for one more person to help wash and

iron the linens for Mass. If interested

please call Jo Alvarado at 913- 850 2288.

We already have 3 volunteers.

Big thanks and blessings to Antoinette

Ramirez, Cindy Wittman and Vicky

Cummings. But we would like like one

more, so that each individual only irons linens one week

a month. Thank you for your consideration.

RCIA

(The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults)

The RCIA process is for anyone who is curious or wants

to know exactly what it means to be Catholic. There is no

pressure and no commitment to become Catholic, if you

go through this process. This is just an opportunity to

learn and listen to where God might be calling you at this

point in your faith journey. If you think you might be in-

terested, please call Deacon Tyrone in the parish office for

additional information. Sr. Linda will contact you when

she returns to the office in mid-August. The RCIA pro-

cess begins September 5th.
