Money Matters Game - $3.00 per set of 10In this activity, girls will create a set of cookie dice using precut templates, one for cookie flavors and one for money. The cookie flavor dice will reflect six of the 2020 Cookie Program flavors and pricing. Girls roll the dice and determine how much change should be issued to a customer based on how the dice land. For example, one dice rolls $10 and one dice rolls an image of a Samoas with a number one as shown in the picture. The girl must figure out how much change to issue to a customer who would like to purchase 1 package of Samoas and pays with a $10 bill. It also includes pre-cut paper play money for practice. Required resource not included: glue

Make Your Own Button - $5.00 per set of 10In this activity, girls will create button unique to her with options to choose from including Leader, Go-Getter, Innovator, Risk Taker, Bold, Strong, Creative and the option to create a custom word to best describe who she is. This activity includes the DIY buttons and pre-cut circles with phrases and graphics to choose from.

Butterfly Fun Facts & Conservation Sheets - $0 per set of 10 Keeping with our butterfly mascot theme and including a learning component, these are great print outs to provide to girls. Utilize these fun facts about butterfiles and conservation tips as a supplement to a station activity or craft.

Set a Goal & Build a Pitch - $0 per set of 10In this activity, girls review the 2020 Cookie Program rewards and determined what they most want to earn. Then they will make a plan to achieve that goal. They’ll also work on building a pitch to deliver to customers when out selling cookies. This is a newly revised resource with a fresh new look and experience for girls. Required resource not included: glue

Cookie Facts & History - $0 per set of 10In this activity, girls will be exposed to fun facts and history about Girl Scouts and the Cookie Program. These tidbits of information are great to show customers that the girls are well informed about their products and amazing conversation starters. Play like a game of memory, or include on a ring or ribbon for girls to take on the go.

Name Tag Stickers - $1.00 per set of 10These stickers are perfect to use as name tags at your event or even as a label on bags or materials handed out to the troop.

Steps

Girl Scout Cookie™ Activity“I Am” Buttons

Pin it with pride!Girls can display the inspiring messages featured on Lemon-Ups™ Girl Scout Cookies® with these bright buttons.

Supplies:“I Am” messages template ScissorsMarkers Clear craft buttonsRecommended size: 2.36 inch

Print the “I Am” messages and cut into circles to fit the clear buttons.

1

Use the cookie messages provided or fill in the blank to create your own inspiring “I Am” statement.

2

Insert the “I Am” message into the clear craft button and snap shut.

3

Girls can wear their buttons at booth sales or walk-abouts, or display their

Girl Scout Cookie pride on backpacks or purses.

Invite girls to think about what they learn from selling Girl Scout Cookies. How do they

exemplify these “I Am” statements?

The Butterfly Effect is a

scientific theory that a small

action (like the flap of a

butterfly’s wings) can make a

big impact on the world!

The monarch butterfly migrates as manyas 3,000 miles to

southwestern Mexico!

Butterflies flap their four wings in a figure-8 pattern. Butterflies tastewith their feet!

Female butterflies attach their eggs to

leaves using a special glue they produce.

Engineers are learning how to improve drones by studying butterflies!

A butterfly has a mouth like a coiled straw called a proboscis. It eats liquid nectar from flowers.

The study of moths and butterflies is known as lepidopterology.

There are about 18,000 species of

butterflies worldwide, and about 750 species in the United States.

A group of butterflies is

sometimes called a flutter.

Other names for a group of

butterflies include swarm, flight, rainbow and

kaleidoscope.

Stage 1: the egg. A butterfly begins as a tinyoval, round or cylindrical egg, depending on the species.Stage 2: the larvae. When the egg hatches, a caterpillar or larva emerges. Caterpillars grow quickly and shed their skin several times during the growth stage. This process is called molting.Stage 3: the chrysalis. When a caterpillar reaches full size, it forms into a chrysalis or pupa. Inside, the caterpillar is beginning to undergo a transformation or metamorphosis.Stage 4: the butterfly. The butterfly emerges from the chrysalis with small, wet and

wrinkly wings. After a rest period, the butterfly pumps blood into its wings and begins to fly.The GIRL SCOUTS® name and mark, and all other associated trademarks and logotypes, including but not limited to the Trefoil Design,

can

Limit the Use

of Pesticides

If pests are a concern in your

yard or garden, try introducing

“beneficial” bugs such as praying

mantis, green lacewings and

lady beetles.

Prepare for Landing

Create a fruit oasis with a

homemade hanging feeder, or

provide a shallow puddle with

water, sand and landing stones

for butterflies to soak up

minerals and salt.

When butterflies drink nectar

from a flower, pollen sticks to

them and is transported from

one flower to another. This

fertilizes plants so they can

produce fruits, seeds and

young plants.

Butterflies need your help.

Several species, including the

monarch, are threatened by

loss of habitat, pesticides and

climate change.

Make a Monarch

Waystation

Plant a colorful flower garden using

native plants and include milkweed.

Milkweed leaves are the only food

monarch caterpillars eat.Create a“No Mow Zone”

Choose a small patch of your

lawn that is only mowed once

or twice a year, to allow native

plants to regenerate.

Butterflies are pollinators and pollinators are important!
