My Awesome life Braden

My name is Braden Michel Holliday and I was born on July 26, 2003 in Augusta, Georgia. I have brown eyes like a deer’s skin, brown hair, like a bear. I am average size. I had a stroke when I was a baby.

I am 9 ½ years old now. I am going to tell you cool things about me. I play a lot of sports. I started playing soccer when I was 3, and basketball at age 4, and hunting and fishing when I was 7. I still enjoy those. I have also tried football and golf.

I have 5 people in my family. Their names are Heather, my mom, Shane, my dad, Joshua, my brother, and Chasitie, my cousin-sister.

I went to Jelly Stone Park 2 times and Disney 2 times. Sometimes I am sad, happy, and nervous.

I hope I play football when I grow up or in high school, college, pro. I want to get a race car. I hope I get for Christmas a Xbox 360, Minecraft, and war games. I have a callus on my foot from playing baseball. I love adventure things like going hiking.

THE END!

My Dream World Ian

My Brother and I woke up this morning, looked out the window, and there was candy! The world was turning into candy! We ran into the sour skittle rocks. The laffy taffy sled was yummy…mmm. Then I saw buildings made of gingerbread decorated with my favorite dessert donuts. Water was made out of fruit gusher juice. This world is yummy! It smells like twizzlers. There were M&M fights. I love this candy land!

Olympic Games

My dream world

would to be in the

Olympic

gymnastics games.

My teammates

would be Nastia

Lukin, Aly Raismen,

Gabby Douglas,

Jorydan Weiber

and Shawn

Johnson. We

would all be

competing to win

the gold, silver and

bronze medal in

London.

One more day till our big

meet. For breakfast we are

going to a super market to get

something to eat. There was a

Bob’s Steakhouse in the

supermarket; I ate almost

everything at the steakhouse.

It tasted like the best steak I

have ever eaten. We are back

at the room all texting our

BFF’s and telling them how

exited\scared we all are. For

lunch we went to The Golden

Café. It smelled like a spring

day. I ate nachos, coffee and

chicken on a stick. We are

now driving somewhere where

little gymnast fans want our

autograph. After a while my

hand gets tired. All we really

had for dinner was noodles

and a tiny piece of steak. We

are back at the room at 11:56

pm. So when we got there we

took a shower and went

straight to bed.

We all flew in our

own private jet. On

my jet it had

anything you wanted,

even my own

gymnastics area. We

are all very scared!

We are driving in a

limo to get to where

we are staying. We

are getting a good

night sleep to get

ready for the next

day.

We all woke up at 11:56am.

We are driving to our meet

since it is an hour away. We

are at the Olympic Games at

3:32pm. We went in our

locker room it was so loud!

All you could hear was people

talking very loud. Good thing

USA girls get our own locker

room. I got dressed in a pink,

orange, green, yellow, purple

and blue neon leotard. I am

feeling very nervous it is a

once in a lifetime experience.

It is time for us to start our

warm ups. This took us an

hour. Our first event was

floor. I saw tons of people

staring at me. I got a 9.875. I

was so happy! Our next event

was bars. I got a 9.750. Our

next event was beam. I got a

9.775. Our last event was

vault. Guess what I got? A

9.99 I barley touch the mat. It

was time for awards. In third

it was Nastia. In second it was

Aly, and in first it was me I am

the champion!

My New School! Grace

My new school is awesome . The people are nice , friendly, and kind. My teacher, Mrs. Sadler, is so nice . This girl named Ally had a birthday. She is 9! She is so special because she is very helpful and welcomed me to Grymes Memorial School. Grymes is a lot different than my old school. For example there are not 5 different classes in the grades, and there are not as many children in the classes . Grymes is a smaller school than A.G. At my old school there were not 8 different grades. My old school does not have a Dr. for our principal. That is how much fun this school is to me!

Horse Show Haley Jo

I love animals. Horses are my favorite because you can go fast. Horses are so nice and adorable. I love when they just get washed. But

when they roll, the smell just goes.

Koda Bear is my pony. He is brown, white and black. I think Koda Bear is adorable. My mom escorts me around. Now I ride around the ring by

myself. I got first place in a horse show. Now I have out grown Koda Bear, but I still ride him.

I have a bigger horse named Lady . She is

not a pony . She is brown and white. I don’t ride Lady at horse shows. I trail ride Lady. I ride her at Graves Mountain Lodge and at my house. I ride with my mom, dad, grandpa , Carrie, Lilli, Dickie

and Carter. I love animals. My favorite are horses.

Slaves Anthony

I am an African slave. Let me tell you about my life. When I was taking care of my mother my whole town caught on fire. I think some people put some torches on the floor. They separated me and my mom. Then they put me on a ship. Then a sign said supper for dinner. I was not really worried about that. So this man tied me up and said we know you`re playing tricks John. I did not know who was John. Then I said my name is Montaz Shay. They did not believe me. Next they put me on paddle job. So I went down stairs and I did the job. So I was taking one paddle out ,I put some fire on it by a fire torch because it was dark in the room.

Some sparks got on the floor. Then it burnt the whole ship. So I tried to get off the ship but some wood fell on my legs. I could not move my legs. But the ship was about to sink. So I grabbed a barrel and I swam to freedom.

Our class went to Mt. Vernon. First we went to the gift shop. I got 1/2

cent penny ,a bookmark and I got the Declaration of Independence.

We had Nelly, she was our escort for thirty minutes. Nelly was George Washington’s

grand child along with Washy. We did not have a escort for a couple of minutes. Not very long.

Quickly we got to the tour of the Mansion. We stayed there for 2 hours and 30 minutes.

Here are some things we learned. We went to Mount Vernon because we were studying about the first president who was George Washington. He live close to the Potomac river. He lived with his wife Martha. George died in his bed that we saw. He never had kids. He had step children it was Nelly along with Washy. They were very good , he loved them to death. George only had one real tooth when he was president. His fake teeth were made out of hippo teeth Wood, Elephant tusk, lead, cow teeth, and metal. Our lives are kind of different. He had 2 step children. George lived in a mansion and I live in a small house not like the one he had. He was the first president but my dad is a antique collector.

My name is Matoaka. My eyes are as black as a starlit sky, my hair is as black as the black sea, and my skin is as brown as the fur of a white tailed deer. My great father Powhatan is out hunting with the other men. My mother, sisters and I are preparing our midday meal. Other women in the tribe are making clay pots. My father has sent two men to spy on the "coat wearers" as I call them. Other women are collecting corn, beans, and squash in the fields. Men usually bring back white tailed deer and such. I prepared it by taking the skin off and put the meat on a spit over the fire. A little later........... Page #1

Page 15: Grymes 3rd Grade Literary Magazine 2012-13

Cooking the meal After two hours of watching the deer my mother helps me bring it to the table. Now we lay out turtle shells and baskets filled with fish, corn beans, deer and squash. Usually we just eat when we’re hungry but after a hard day for everyone we're all hungry! After our meal the medicine man told us stories of the old days. Both men and women danced men with war hammers, ladies with shawls. page # 2

Now it is time to go to bed. Our yahakin is cozy, warm and filled with joy. Now I am ready for tomorrow.

On the 22nd I cleaned 3/4 of the day. We also had to pick up my grandmother, Cici, from the Charlottesville airport. We also had to dog sit a golden doodle named Porter. Porter and Ferrous, my dog, are in love. His owners were going to Paris for Christmas.

They kept our dog when we went to Arkansas for Thanksgiving.

We had a little snow but only a

centimeter. We were so bummed that we didn’t get more! We wanted to have enough that we could build a snowman, but we didn’t get enough to even make snowballs!

December 24, 2012

We were shaking all of the presents that had our name on them because we were trying to guess what our presents were. We were pleading Cici, our grandmother, to give us hints on what our presents were.

My name is Reese Cosby Horne. I was born on December 13, 2003 at Martha Jefferson hospital. My physical traits are: brown hair, blue eyes, freckles (not like fregly) long legs and I am about

4’9”. Now I am 9, and I hope you enjoy this section.

My family is a mix of Cluff and Horne. On the Horne side (my dad’s side) they were known for their knowledge. The Cluffs

were known for opening the

C & G carwash. So? You liking the autobiography now? Good!

I love to do athletics and reading. On the athletics side I do running. I am the fastest in the second and third grades!

Page 21: Grymes 3rd Grade Literary Magazine 2012-13

I also play soccer. Last soccer season my team got third place out of twenty games.

You still going to read on? Great!

My personality is always Hilarious or exceptionally happy. At school I have a lot of friends that joke around with me that I am the hilarious wizard.

Did you get a laugh out of that?!

I also do tae kwon do. I am a yellow belt

But I still know a lot of moves like the tornado kick that is a red-belt kick, although I know those kicks my regulation is the skipping-front and skipping-roundhouse. Some hand moves include palm thrust, punch combination and some knife and hand strike moves. For that you need a lot, and I mean a lot of hand-eye coordination.

Did you get a kick out of that?! Well there you have it, a demonstration or summary of my interesting life. I hope to be a Titanic reporter, and my goal is that I can write a pamphlet about all of the facts that have to do with the Titanic and why it broke in two. Well I hope you enjoyed this story of my life.
