THEACADEMY
AT THEFAIRHOPE AIRPORT
A PARTNERSHIP BETWEENThe Baldwin County Public School System is among the most innovative school districts in America and is a member of the prestigious League of Innovative Schools/Digital Promise, a White House initiative. Baldwin Schools are preparing students for the very best college and
career opportunities by empowering them with a 21st Century classroom experience. Baldwin Schools provide a digital device for every teacher and student and offer students the most advanced learning tools possible such as Rosetta Stone, Discovery Education, icurio and iStation. Baldwin graduates now lead some of the most progressive, successful organizations in the world, including NASA¹S Marshall Space Flight Center and Apple Computer. The Baldwin County Public School System is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), a division of AdvancedEd.
Serving more than 5,000 students, Faulkner State has three campuses in Baldwin County and has a comprehensive online program. It is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). With continued
growth in enrollment, Faulkner State strives to add new programs that students want and new training opportunities that students need. The Industrial Maintenance and Welding programs have shown huge success over the past years as students prepare for jobs with local industry leaders, such as Austal and SSAB.
Seeing the need for Baldwin County residents to have aviation training options, ESCC became a major partner in the
project known as the Academy at the Fairhope Airport. Enterprise State encompasses the five-campus Alabama Aviation Center and offers skilled training in the most innovative aviation careers. ESCC is also accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). Instructors of ESCC are licensed by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). With the addition of UTC Aerospace Systems, Airbus, ST Aerospace Mobile and other major industries, Baldwin County is a prime location to train skilled employees, and Enterprise State is excited to be a part of that movement.
The Fairhope Airport Authority has provided the location for the Academy. The Authority currently has
land dedicated to the addition of new facilities and companies for possible future growth. Key tenants already located at the airport include a unit of the Alabama Department of Public Safety and Continental Motors, which operates a full-service FBO (fixed based operator) including complete maintenance facilities for almost any type of piston airplanes. Large and small hangars are also located on the field.
