To ensure efficient use of water State is focusing on:

• Awareness of the farmers, Panchayats, Local bodies etc. regarding consumptive use of water through participatory approach.

• Proper water management in rainfed areas through water conservation technologies.

• Judicious use of water in irrigated areas through proper water conveyance system and suitable cropping systems.

“Enhancement of Water Use Efficiency in Bundelkhand & Vindhyan Region”

• Scheme is under implementation in all the 10 districts of Bundelkhand & Vindhyan areas.

• Under the scheme Sprinkler irrigation system (Sprinkler set, pump set & HDPE pipe) are distributed on 90% subsidy to small & marginal farmers & on 50% subsidy to large farmers.

• During the 12th Five Year Plan 25840 sprinkler irrigation systems are to be distributed at the expenditure of Rs.103.78 crore under this scheme.

• Recognizing the predominance of small & marginal farmers in the State, the 75% of the total sprinkler irrigation system in the scheme are earmarked for them.

• Other water recharging/water conservation schemes viz. Bhoomi Sena Yojna, Integrated Watershed Management under RIDF, Land Reclamation in Katri Area & RADP schemes are implemented.

• Green manuring in 2.00 lakh ha proposed under soil health improvement programme.

• Awareness programme of soil health improvement to all stake holders.

• Distribution of 43 Lakh bio fertilizers packets.

• Demonstration and the construction of 16270 vermi compost units.

• Distribution of Zinc Sulphate, Sulphur, Gypsum at 75 % subsidy.

Awareness of I.P.M. Programme to the Farmers For Strengthening of Plant Protection Services

• To organize Seed Treatment Campaign in Kharif 2014 to control the seed and soil borne diseases.

• To organize FFS under I.P.M. Programs on Paddy, Pulses, Oilseeds, Maize and other crops.

• To organize farmers & technical staff training programme for creating awareness about I.P.M. & new techniques of Plant Protection.

• Surveillance of Pest & Diseases for monitoring & their management alongwith conservation of Bio-agents in standing crops.

• To organize monthly meeting of pest surveillance and advisory unit constituted at District & State level for direction and co-ordination of local activities on pest & diseases.

• Extension of IPM activities through electronic & print mass media.

Facilities on Plant Protection Measures to the Farmers by the State Government

• Providing 75% subsidy on Seed Treating Chemicals to all farmers for control the seed as well as soil borne diseases.

• Providing 75% subsidy to small, marginal farmers on Bio-pesticides /Bio-agents.

• Providing 50% subsidy to small, marginal on chemical Pesticides.

• Providing 50% subsidy on storage bin and Plant Protection equipment to small, marginal farmers.

Facilities of Plant Protection Equipments to the Farmers by the State Government

• Department of Agriculture notify the rates of commonly used P.P. Equipments at directorate level through Rate Contract from 2012-13. Details of P.P. Equipment and their specification with their capacity are given below:-

• Hand Rotary Duster Belly Mounted Type – ISI marked having hopper made of plastic, capacity 6000 cc, tank capacity 6 Kg. and field coverage 2-2.5 acres in 8 hours.

• Foot Sprayer – ISI marked having 15 Mtrs. Long PVC Delivery hose with adjustable nozzle with fixed pressure chamber 0.85 Litre capacity. Field coverage 4-5 acres in 8 hours.

Facilities of Plant Protection Equipments to the Farmers by the State Government

• Hand Operated Knapsack Sprayer Piston Type- ISI marked having 16 litre Capacity tank made of plastic body with Plastic pressure chamber fitted inside the tank. Field coverage 2-3 acres in 8 hours .

• Hand Operated Knapsack Sprayer Piston Type- ISI marked having 16 litre Capacity tank made of plastic body with Brass pressure chamber fitted inside the tank. Field coverage 2-3 acres in 8 hours .

• Battery Operated Knapsack Sprayer- Capacity of tank 16 litres, made of HDPE mounted on solid strong plastic base fitted with self priming DC pump of minimum 2 Litre Per Minute flow rate and fitted with 12 Volts 12 AH power dry battery. Field coverage 4-5 acres in 8 hours .
