“Souper” Bowl Sunday Church
Competition Remember to bring your
non-perishable food items to
the church by Sunday, Febru-
ary 5. There are bins located
around the church to drop off
donations. All food donated
goes toward restocking the Longview Community Min-
istries Food Pantry. Last year Greggton UMC came in
second with 1,479 food items. Let’s see if we can beat
that this year and come in first!

Got Financial Peace? Have you ever wondered where your money goes?
Come learn how to better manage your money and your
life. Our church is hosting Dave Ramsey’s Financial
Peace class to teach God’s way of handling money. The
class is Dave teaching on video followed by small-group
discussion. These principles apply to everyone—whether
you’re financially secure or are struggling with debt. The
class will show you how to really live like never before
with lessons on saving, debt elimination, investing and
real estate to name a few. Over a million families have
changed their family trees through Financial Peace, and
we want to give you the opportunity to do the same.
Classes are Sundays from 5:30-7:30pm in the parlor, and
childcare is available. It’s not too late to sign up, we have
only just begun! (And for the first person to contact
Sonya in the church office, you get a free kit!)
Name Tags We want to encourage all members to be sure and wear
their name tags on Sunday mornings. This helps new
guests to learn names and get to know members of the
church.

Friends Together One of the most amazing experiences in the youth
ministry is watching the youth come together on Sun-
day and Wednesday evenings as friends. The boys
play Madden Football on XBOX or billiards and have
an amazing time across all ages. MJ Holley has a gift
for Madden video games, and Bryndin Hartman regu-
larly wins against any challenger. The girls come to-
gether to talk about their lives and share personal ex-
periences. A major challenge in youth ministry is start-
ing with a ragtag assortment of youth from different
schools and becoming friends and sharing stories to-
ward greater understanding of the experiences of eve-
ryone in the youth group. The youth at Greggton are
experiencing life and ministry as friends together.
With every passing week, the youth learn each other's
stories and understand how to respect each other.
Youth Mystery Mentor Become a youth mystery mentor today and reach the
life of a youth. Contact Teresa at the church office or
Debbie in the Youth Ministry to become a youth mys-
tery mentor. You can become part of the youths' life
story and influence the rest of their lives!
Pioneer Club is off to a great start! We started back
again on January 11th and are so thankful for each child
that comes to learn. We have children’s choir from 6-
6:30 in the sanctuary, and it is a great time of worship
with the kids. Each week, they sing praises to God, and
spend time praying for each other. Following choir, stu-
dents go to class from 6:30-7:30. All the children are
learning to pray for each other and how to find scrip-
tures in their Bibles. Please continue to pray for all the
children to develop a deep love for Jesus Christ.
In children’s church we are focusing on getting
healthy- both physically and spiritually. The children
learned about how messy sin is, and how Christ came
to cleanse us of our sins and give us clean hearts. The
children are memorizing 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, which
tells us that our bodies are a dwelling place for the Holy
Spirit, and therefore it is our responsibility to keep
them clean to honor God. We have also been discussing
different foods that help our bodies be strong and
healthy.
