To our friends and colleagues:

Spring returns to the earth and everything looks fresh. Aiming to promote the

development of pediatric interventional pulmonology in Asia and further in the world, so as

to improve children’s health, Prof Mohammad Ashkan Moslehi from School of Medicine,

Shiraz University(Iran), Prof Liu Xicheng from Beijing Children’s Hospital(China) and Prof Meng

Chen from Qilu Children’s Hospital of Shandong University, together founded Asian Pediatric

Interventional Pulmonology Association (APIPA) and will hold the first conference and

hands-on workshops on March 16th to 18th 2018 in Jinan, Shandong, China .

Asian pediatric interventional pulmonology started in early 1990s, after more than 20

years of hardwork, all kinds of techniques has been applied to pediatrics and great

achievements has been made. In recent years, during communication with international

colleagues we have found pediatric interventional pulmonology very promising in Asia, which

demands the establishment of platform for Asian pediatric interventional pulmonology.

In early spring of Jinan , “Spring scenery fills the stream, sit under the pavilion beside the

water. The groud is full of green grass, the blue green willows leap to the eyes”. Seeking for

development together, Spring City warmly welcome friends coming from afar!

Sightseeing of Jinan

Daming Lake (literally: "Lake of the Great Splendour") is the

largest lake in the city of Jinan, and one of city's main natural

and cultural landmarks. Located to the north of the historical

city center, the lake is fed by the artesian karst springs of the

area and hence retains a fairly constant water level through

the entire year. Daming Lake, together with Baotu Spring and

the Thousand-Buddha Mountain is often regarded as the

"Three Greatest Attractions in Jinan".

Jinan is known as the "City of Springs" because of the

large number of natural artesian springs. The majority of

the springs, many of which have been historically listed

under the "72 Famous Springs" are concentrated in the

downtown district and flow north to converge in Daming

Lake.[7] The Baotu Spring Park is the most popular of the

springs in the City of Jinan proper. Besides the Baotu

Spring, the park contains several other springs that are

listed among the "72 Famous Springs". "Bào tū" means

"jumping and leaping" in Chinese. The water in the spring

pool can be seen foaming and gushing, looking like a pot

of boiling water. The spring was visited by the Qianlong

Emperor of the Qing dynasty who declared it "the best

spring under the heaven".

The Thousand Buddha Mountain is a hill located southeast of

the city of Jinan. It is renowned for its

numerous Buddha images which have been carved out of the

hill's rock faces or free-standing structures erect since the

times of the Sui Dynasty (581-618) and its Xingguochan

Temple. The Thousand Buddha Mountain is one of “Three

Greatest Attractions in Jinan".
