GREETINGS!
We enthusiastically welcome you to join us at the 48th NAMC Annual National Conference in Columbia, South Carolina. The theme this year, “Laying Foundations that Build Stronger Futures”, is intended to reflect a robust, engaging, and transforming experience to elevate you to new heights in expanding market presence, building relationships, broadening resources, and pursuing opportunities. It is no longer business as usual. New paths to success require enhanced expertise, lean management, increased productivity, and the utilization of cutting-edge technology in providing innovative solutions that will drive industry sustainability.
NAMC’s presence and voice in this industry rings louder and reaches farther today than ever before. Our mission to provide access, advocacy, and contractor readiness for our members, in collaboration with strategic alliances is the focal point of everything we do. The National Conference is a powerful forum to bring together key stakeholders in the private and public sector with emerging and established MWBE firms to build the network required to thrive and capture opportunities in this new economy.
Empower your business for success and plan to be in Columbia, South Carolina, June 14-16, 2017, for the 48th NAMC Annual National Conference. Our program includes a Welcome Reception, Women in Construction Luncheon, NAMC Night Out, a Tradeshow, the Hall of Fame Gala including a number of enriching and motivational workshops. There are many sponsorship opportunities to enhance your brand, pay it forward and connect to a broader market or simply be one of the many exceptional attendees. Take a look at the information presented and be an early bird to maximize the occasion.
Remember, it is not only about your today, but someone else’s tomorrow. In the words of Ray Dones, a pioneer in the development of NAMC, “To fall is bad but to remain down is worse. Adversity can engulf the individual but not the group. Keepmoving forward “Laying Foundations that Build Stronger Futures”. See you there!
Best Regards,
Wendell Stemley

Founded in Oakland, California in 1969 by Raymond Dones and Joseph Debro, the National Association of Minority Contractors (NAMC) is the leading trade association dedicated to promoting the full participation of minority-owned, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises (M/W/SBE/AC/ DBE) in the construction industry. Through a network of local chapters and in collaboration with strategic and corporate partnerships, NAMC assists members with building capacity by providing access to opportunity, advocacy, and contractor development training.
With over 50 Hall of Fame members, a number of Legacy Builders and an annual project capacity of over one billion dollars nationally, NAMC has established a great legacy within the construction industry. Today, greater than ever before, the need for the continued expansion of NAMC’s presence and voice in the industry is paramount. Our mission of providing Access (contract & resource opportunities), Advocacy (legislative impact), and Contractor Readiness (training, capacity building, and growth) for our members can only be accomplished in collaboration with our major corporate partners, community/public partners and strategic alliances. Proceeds from the conference go toward this end.

A LA CARTE - EXCURSIONS
Thursday, June 15, 2017LUNCH AND LEARN: MANN-SIMONS COTTAGE, AN EARLY REFLECTION OF COLUMBIA’S ENTREPRENEURIAL SPIRIT
Formerly enslaved Charlestonians, Celia Mann, a midwife, and Ben Delane, a boatman, became the first generation of family members to live on the property and laid a social and material foundation that allowed successive generations to pursue a variety of businesses and social undertakings.
After more than a decade of research, a series of archeological digs that uncovered thousands of artifacts and months of renovations, a re-interpretation of the Mann-Simons Site has led to the new permanent exhibit, which tells a richer and more complex story of the African American families who lived and worked at the site.
Per Person - $30, lunch included
The NAMC National Conference Trade Show offers attendees the opportunity to explore the breadth and depth of construction companies, products and services; and the tools and technologies available in today’s construction industry. With numerous exhibiting organizations, the trade show is an integral part of the education, networking and professional development that takes place at the NAMC National Conference.
