Dear Greenmount families We had an interesting Science Week with some fascinating displays. Congratulations to all of the classes and also a big thank you to Mrs McGlew for coordinating the fabulous displays and for continuing to promote Science in our school. Here are photos of the winners below:- Hatching chicks As a continuation of Science Week, Rooms 10 and 12 are currently hatching chickens. They are excited to announce that they are parents to 8 chicken eggs each. They are due to hatch today and tomorrow. Once they have hatched they will be transferred to our brooding box for two weeks. As a part of our Biological Science studies, this term we are studying the life cycles of living things and therefore, it is our responsibility to take care of these chicks for two weeks. The chicks can be bought by students and their families after the two weeks. The children are keeping diaries of the chicks development. They are so excited to be able to experience this process in their classrooms first hand. If you are interested in purchasing a chick for $15, please contact the school. Athletics Carnival Mr Hodgson and the teachers are busy practising for the forthcoming Athletics Carnival on Friday 28th October, jumps and throws Wednesday 26th October. Midland K Mart Tyre and Auto Services

The school would like to sincerely thank Midland K Mart

Tyre and Auto services located at Midland Gate shopping

centre, who kindly accepted all our old car tyres for recycling.

This would normally be a costly exercise but thanks to their

support, our Gardener was able to take all the old tyres to be recycled free of charge. A

special thanks to Chris the Assistant Manager and of course Len our gardener.
