Thank You! The 2012 Greene County Fair was a success! Thanks to everyone for helping with different fair activities! We have a lot of great volunteers, please be sure to say thank you by sending thank you cards. Also be sure to send thank you cards to your premium/auction buyers and award sponsors! State Fair Exhibit Pick-Up: Don’t forget to pick up your state fair exhibits August 20th – 22nd at the Greene County Extension Office. Fair – Lost & Found Items: We picked up two items during fair- a black and white checkered pair of Airwalk shoes with pink shoe strings, size 6 ½ and a green “Happy Go Lucky” t-shirt. Please stop by the Extension Office to pick up your items. Fall Leaders Meeting: The annual fall leaders organizational meeting will be held on Monday, September 24th, beginning at 7:00pm in the Extension Office Meeting Room. Please RSVP to Sarah Jo. Youth Development Committee Meeting: The Greene County 4-H Youth Development Committee Meeting will be held on Monday, August 6th at 7:00pm in the Greene County Extension Office Meeting Room. Please contact Michael with your RSVP. Online Re-Enrollment in 4-H: Last year you had the choice to enroll by completing paper forms or by going online. This year the re-enrollment process is ALL ONLINE. Extension Staff is available to help you enroll online if you have questions about the process. If you need extra help, plan to make an appointment with Extension Staff to enroll online. Re-enrollments are due November 15th, 2012.

Record Keeping: Record what you have learned and accomplished this past year in 4-H by completing your 4-H record book! Record keeping forms, help sheets, award packets, and examples can be found at the Extension Office and also on the Greene County 4-H website. Record Keeping is due to the Extension Office by September 17th, 2012 in order to be eligible for county awards.

2012-2013 Upcoming Club Meeting Times: Please check with your club leader about the first meeting for your club. Some clubs start meeting in August, and some do not start until September. Shooting Sports Meeting August 16th: The Shooting Sports club will be meeting on Thursday, August 16th, at 5:00pm at Slininger Woods. Since it is a new year, each member and their guardian will need to sign a new waiver for the 2012-2013 year. Leaders, please pick up the waivers at the Extension Office. Photo Scavenger Hunt Winners: During the Greene County Fair, Team “The Rams” with 4-Hers Aubrey Heupel, Kassie and Kirsten Lamoureux, and Kyann Brown were the Photo Scavenger Hunt Winners! Second place team was the “Zebras” and third place team was “Ice Cream.” Members of the top three teams receive a prize. Please come by the Extension Office to pick them up! Young Leaders Applications: If you are interested in giving back to your community, helping younger Greene County 4-Hers, gaining leadership experiences, and having fun then join the Greene County Young Leaders! Applications are due by September 17th, 2012, and can be found at the Extension Office or on our website. Contact the Greene County Extension Office for more details.
