This is a Brand Identity Manual for the Green Party of Canada.. This is a guide for you to know more about us. There are different meanings to different elements, we will explain everything here, so let’s get started!

About UsThe Green Party of Canada was founded at a conference held at Carleton University in Ottawa in 1983. Under its first leader, Dr. Trevor Hancock, the party ran 60 candidates in the 1984 federal election.The Green Party of Canada is independent of other green parties around the world but remains philosophically aligned with them. The Green Party begins with the basic premise that all life on the planet is interconnected and that humans have a responsibility to protect and preserve the natural world. The Green Party of Canada, like its provincial counterparts in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec and Nova Scotia, supports green economics, progressive social planning and responsible and accountable governance.Since its inception, the party has been developing as an organization, expanding its membership and improving its showing at the polls.

LogoThe logo design are based on the symbol for the Green Party, which is sunflower, with multiple flowers here, it represent the growing of the Green Party, and with the green circle, that represent the globe.

Here is the logo in both color and greyscale version. In smaller sizes logo, we removed the smaller text due to the readibility.

Proper andmisuse of logoWe can show the logo in many different ways, but there are always good and bad side of it, so in this page, we will let you know what is good, and what is bad!

Placing logo on a clean white back-ground.

Placing logo on a sharp or bright color.

ColorWhat color represent the Green Party? Of course, it’s green. But there are still other colors we used beside green, here we show the primary and secondary color that we used, and how we used.

Typographic 1We used Helvetica type as our coporate fonts. Helvetica is very nice and simple fonts, and easy for our eyes. It’s like a everyday wear for us. Here we will show different family that we used.

Typographic 2And we used Futura as our online fonts. Futura seems like something different, and since online text are not gonna be really small in size, Futura is going be readable.

GraphicsSince the Green Party is a political party, and a very serious group, there is not alot of graphic we used. Mostly or the only graphic we used, is the sybol in the logo, and that is the sunflower. But we used it in many differ-ent sizes, and different way.
