Wed. Mar 21, 2012 7 PM Annual General Meeting

Mon. Mar 26, 2012 7 PM

Message from the President:

I hope everyone had a safe and happy

holiday season. Due to the weather

conditions, everyone is aware that we had to

cancel our Winterfest event (3rd Annual

Poker Ride) which was to be held on

December 31st, 2011. Our plan is to

reschedule as soon as Mother Nature

cooperates and we get enough snow to cover

the rocks and groom the trails. We are

looking at early February to reschedule.

Thank you to Pat and Walter Olsoff for

hosting our New Year`s Eve drop in. Pat

commented that, although attendance was

very low, they still had a good time.

A big thanks to all who helped prepare for

Winterfest. We have everything in place,

except for the snow, to make this upcoming

event successful. We have lots of door

prizes and food items that have been

donated, so please plan on attending this

event once we notify everyone of the new

date.

We have formed a committee to review our

current by-laws, to align them with ABC

Snowmobile Club’s by-laws. Our

recommendations will be published in the

February newsletter and we will hold our

Annual General Meeting on March 26th

2012 to vote on and adopt these

recommendations, to take effect for the

2012/2013 sledding season. Please stay

tuned and plan on attending the AGM. Your

input is always appreciated and valued.

We handed out road crossing permits at the

last general meeting. If you need one,

please let us know and we can arrange to get

more through the Clinton RCMP. Please

note that you require your sled registration

number and description to complete the

form.

You may notice the clubhouse yard light is

no longer on during the daylight hours. A

big thanks to Fred and Marie Kuyek for

donation of the new yard light and Larry

Messaros for fixing the light.

Our next scheduled event is the Sweetheart

Dance to be held on February18th. Please

see the article in the newsletter regarding

this event. Gail and Brad Potter provided

the entertainment at the Christmas Dance

and we had a great time. They will be

entertaining us again at the Sweetheart

Dance.

Please do your snow dance. Frank Dixon is

ready, willing and able to host the Sunday

and Wednesday rides. He`s just waiting for

Winter Mother Nature to show up by way of

snow (not freezing temperatures).

Advertisers Corner

Information about our sponsors.

Last year Ellie sold Little Horse Lodge and

the new owners, Rick & Carol Weiler, have

made quite a few changes and

improvements. The store and restaurant will

be maintaining regular hours. The gas

station will be also be open and the price of

fuel is cheaper than in town. If your sleds or

your tummies need filling, why not stop by

and meet the new owners!

Brad and Gail Potter along with their son,

Brandon have moved into their large custom

home off of Bonaparte Road at the end of

Green Lake. The Potters have quite a bit of

history in the Green Lake area as Brad’s

parents had a place on South Green and they

were instrumental in starting the South

Green Lake Volunteer Fire Department.

Their house is set in a very idyllic setting

and is a fledgling bed & breakfast, . The

hospitality and the food are top notch so if

you know of anyone looking to have their

batteries recharged, this is the place to do it!

Brad and Gail, who play sax and keyboards

and known each other since grade 8 band,

also have a duo music group called Class

Mates! If you need some excellent dance or

wedding music, give them a call.

Brad is a realtor with Re/Max Country

Lakes Realty. He specializes in Waterfront

properties for Recreational, Residential and

Resort use. Hard work and special

marketing has allowed him to achieve

consecutive MLS awards from 1992 through

2007, and 2009 - 2010 the only Realtor in

the area to be able to make that claim.

Trail Report

Although we haven’t had much snow, a big

thanks to those who have gone out and

cleared the trees off our trails.

Please be careful on the trails, as there is

still a lot of logging activity in the area,

particularly on the south side of Green Lake.

Harvesting is active around Jeep Lake,

Pressy Lake Road ( FSR 321) and on the

Jeep Lake Trail, off the North Bonaparte.

See President’s Report regarding Road

Crossing Permits.

We’ll have the groomers on the trails once

we have enough snow. They are serviced

and ready to go.

See you on the trails.

Sweetheart Dinner/Dance

February 18th

, 2012

Happy Hour 6pm, Dinner 7pm

Live Music 8 – 11 pm

$10.00 per person

Your “Sweetheart Dinner/Dance” committee has been hard at work, planning a wonderful

evening for our members and their guests.

This dinner will not be a potluck dinner! We will be providing Bistro Beef Dip, salads,

desserts and coffee. As always, remember to bring your own beverages.

We will once again be fortunate to have live music by the “Class Mates” (Brad and Gail

Potter). Anyone who attended the Christmas Party at the club can attest to what a wonderful

evening we had dancing the night away to their songs from the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s.

Another change-up to the routine is the absence of a raffle. We will have door prizes, spot

dance prizes and a 50/50 draw, but we won’t be having our usual raffle ticket sales.

Consequently, you aren’t being asked to bring raffle items to this event. (However, if you

would like to donate an item as a prize, please let anyone on the committee know!)

We are hoping that every member will invite a guest or two along! Because we will need

accurate attendance numbers, we are asking that you call one of the committee members for

tickets before Feb.4th

.
