HIGHLIGHTS§ Hosted 81 events between the months of April – October with a total

attendance of 338,000.§ 71 Concerts 1 Holiday Tree Lighting§ 2 Graduations 3 Community Movie Nights§ 1 High School Community Event 3 Filming Events

§ Installed additional security measures to include walk-through magnetometers and video surveillance in an effort to maintain the safety of our guests and artists.

§ Established a ride share drop off/pick up location to help ease traffic and pedestrian congestion around the venue.

§ Hosted the 100th episode premier of the AMC Walking Dead and Live production of the Talking Dead viewed by 3 million viewers nationwide!

The Greek Theatre won 2016 “Best Small Outdoor Venue” from PollstarMagazine.

The Greek has received another nomination from Pollstar Magazine in 2017 for Best Small Outdoor Venue!

2017 RENOVATIONSCAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS

§ New single accommodation unisex/family restroom in Hospitality Building that will be accessible to general public.

§ New stairway leading from oak garden to North side VIP areas

§ New wayfinding signage in select areas inside the venue

§ Stencil paint and Dex-O-Tex surfacing in bathroom tunnels and North/South plazas

§ Additional lighting in select areas

§ Redwood Deck upgrades

§ Improved AC units in select spaces

§ Security System devices at entry check points and venue-wide surveillance system

§ Cable hoists for LED Video Screens

2018 CONTINUED REINVESTMENTSThe $1,578,715 facility fee revenue collected from the $5 per ticket fee during the 2017 event season will be used for future venue improvements in 2018.

2018 Improvements include:

§ Renovating and reconfiguration of box suites, club seats and sound control booth, painting of perimeter fence and stage doors, minor adjustments of ADA toilet partitions

§ Restoration of gates and loading dock doors

§ Freight elevator modernization and facility fire/life safety upgrades

§ Minor re-grading of parking Lot F ADA stalls behind box office building

§ Premier Food Services again introduced new options for visitors this season. New choices included items such as Chicken and Waffles, Korean BBQ Beef Burrito, Lamb Burgers and a Buffalo Chicken Sandwich while old staples stayed on the menu due to popular demand – Truffle Tries and Nachos!

§ The Coffee & Fresh Fare cart was relocated to the front plaza in 2017 generating more exposure for “grab and go” food items and the Greek Theatre merchandise. The Coffee Cart also remains open for select days during the off-season to service Griffith Park visitors and hikers.

§ Premier’s partnership with a local non-profit group, Canning Hunger, continued to provide 40 Los Angeles residents with job skills and training with their work in Food Services at each concert in 2017.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH & EVENTS§ Conducted monthly GTAC Meetings and Community Coffee Hours and

distributed Monthly Greek Theatre Newsletter to 332 residents and local businesses

NEXT STEPS:

This End of the Year Report reflects the successful managing and implementation of the Open Venue model during the 2017 concert season. It is RAP’s intent to continue operating the Greek Theatre as an Open Venue and is presently requesting proposals for a longer term venue management and food and beverage operation contract.

The Department of Recreation and Parks wishes to thank and acknowledge the strong partnership with SMG and Premier for their invaluable contributions to the 2017 Season success.

Special recognition is given to all our Greek Theatre partners - The Greek Theatre Staff, G-TAC, Council District 4, Concert Promoters, Community Members and the Artists and Patrons, who working together, ensure a dynamic, healthy and prosperous fan experience.
