1000m2 OF TIMEBy Maro Anastopoulou

2nd FILM • GREECE • 2019 • 85΄ • Greek, English,

The subject of the documentary is an archeo-

logical excavation in a mountainous village in

the Peloponnese. Focusing on the excavation

and the international team of archaeologists,

the film addresses issues about how the past is

intertwined with the present of the local com-

munity. Placed in the residential area of the vil-

lage, the excavation reveals a distant ancient

past, while it provides an eloquent example of

a past being always present in the daily life of

Gerakiotes. ‘’1000m2 of time’’ is a documentary

about our relation with the past.
