STERLING WOODS DAY CAMPSterling Woods Day Camp provides children with a classic day camp experience! Your child will build confidence with our adventure course, learn teamwork with our sports and games, develop swimming skills in our pools, create unique arts and crafts and “think outside of the box” with music.

Campers will spend their day bonding with friends under the supervision of excited and energetic Y Camp Staff. Each week features a different fun theme with special dress up days and programming. For the older camper, Sterling Woods offers a Counselor-In-Training (C.I.T.) program.

SPECIALTY CAMPS• Arts & Humanities CampsOur Arts & Humanities Camps will not only teach your child new skills, but also help building on the talents they may already have! From visual arts to perform-ing arts and everything in between, your child will have a fun filled day expressing themself through creativity and imagination.

• Adventure CampsThe Adventure based lessons and skills your child will learn in our Adventure camps will last them a lifetime! Survival skills, team building and physical challenges will help build your child’s confidence and friendships with other campers.

• Gymnastics & Dance CampsGymnastics & Dance camps give your child the ability to use our state of the art Gymnastics Center and Dance Studio while strengthening their physical abilities in movement, stretching and rhythm.

• Sports & Wellness CampsNot only do children learn about non-traditional sports games, but also healthy exercises and eating options. Through the Y’s specialized equipment and kid friendlydirections, your child will stay active all summer!

• Camp S.T.A.R.Camp S.T.A.R. (supportive, therapeutic, adaptive, recreation) is tailed for child with cognitive, emotional, sensorial and/or behavioral disabilities. Running along Sterling Woods Camp, your child will have the chance to participate in daily camp activities and learn from peer modeling and socialization in a recreational setting.

EARLY EDUCATION SUMMER PROGRAMSThe Y’s Children’s Enrichment Center offers early education and summer programs for children 6 weeks through 5 years. Our classrooms are arranged to foster independence, cooperation, problem-solving and planning. Your child will discover and learn through art, literacy and language, mathematics, science and exploration under the guidance of nurturing and knowledgeable teachers. Weekly themes and daily activities are created to challenge and celebrate your child’s development. Children play outdoors daily once they enter preschool and swim weekly. RegistrationNEW THIS YEAR - Our improved E-pay system makes paying for camp easier than ever! The YMCA of the North Shore makes registering and paying for camp easy and convenient. Parents can register in person at the front desk or online and can choose from one of the three following payment methods: • Pay in full at the time of registration. • Use our convenient E-pay system and we’ll automatically

draft either a credit/debit card or checking account 7 days prior to the start of your camp session. Never worry about remembering to pay! Secure your spot with a $25 deposit which can be credited for other camps or programs up until 7 days prior to the start of the camp session.

• Pay a $25 non-refundable deposit at the time of registration and then pay the balance at least 7 days prior to the start of camp.

An emergency phone number and email contact are required at time of registration.

Cancellation & Refund PolicyAll camp cancellations must be done in writing and submitted to the camp registrar at [email protected].

• All cancellations accompanied by a doctor’s note any time prior to the start of your child’s camp session will receive full refund.

• For families on E-pay, all cancellation submitted more than 7 days prior to the start of your child’s camp session will receive a full refund. All cancellations submitted less than 7 days before the start of your child camp session will receive a refund minus the $25 deposit. All cancellations received on or after the start of your child’s session will receive a YMCA credit for the pro-rated amount paid based on the remaining number of days in the session minus the $25 deposit.

• For families not on E-pay, all cancellations submitted more than 7 days before the start of your child camp session will receive a refund minus the $25 deposit. All cancellations made less than 7 days prior to the start of the session will receive a refund minus the $25 deposit and a $25 processing fee. All cancellations received on or after the start of your child’s session will receive a YMCA credit for the pro-rated amount paid based on the remaining number of days in the session less the $25 deposit and $25 processing fee.

Camp Change PolicyAll camp changes must be done in writing and submitted to the camp registrar at [email protected]. All campers receive one free change and will be charged a fee of $15 per change per camper after that.

Extended Care OptionsA majority of our camps offer Before and After care, so you can drop your child off as early as 7:00am and pick up as late as 6:00pm. Please note, Before and After Care are priced seperately.

Financial AidY summer camps are for everyone regardless of income. The Y provides financial assistance for families who are unable to pay the full camp fee. Subsidies are available thanks to the generous support of “Y For All” donors and United Way contributions. Visit your local Y or our website at www.northshoreymca.org for a confidential financial assistance application or to make a contribution. Applications for financial assistance should be submitted at least three weeks prior to the start of the camp session to allow for processing.

2013GREATER BEVERLY CAMP THEMESJune 17–21 Birthday WeekEach day we’ll celebrate birthdays from different months. Age themed birthdays will be incoporated during activities. All camp birthday parties will be on Friday, June 21.

June 24–28 Decades Week & Family Camp FireDuring the week learn different popular songs, art techniques, pop culture and fashions from the different decades of the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and 90’s. Bring your family around the Sterling Woods camp grounds during our Camp Fire on Thursday, June 27 from 6:30-7:30pm.

July 1–5 Superhero WeekDress up contests as your favorite superhero, villain, role model, and favorite staff. Activities may include creating your own superhero, inventing your own theme song, and much more! Please note we will be closed on Thursday, July 4th for the holiday.

July 8-12 Water-O-Rama Week & Beach TripSplash, swim and play during daily activities based around the water. *Sterling Woods will go on the first beach trip to Crane Beach in Ipswich on Wednesday, July 10.

July 15–19 Olympics & Dodgeball Tourney WeekCompete in the Greater Beverly YMCA Olympics, consisting of water and land events. Scheduled activities include: Dodgeball Tourney on Wednesday, July 17; Family Olympics and Kickball Game on Thursday, July 18; 6:15pm at Hannah Field; and the Olympics on Friday, July 19 during camp.

July 22-26 Gold Rush Week Take part in one of our most popular weeks of camp! Dress as a pirate and join us on a treasure hunt for gold. Sterling Woods will have their annual Gold Rush on Friday, July 26.

July 29–August 2 Pride Week and Color WarsShow pride in your camp and camp group, sing songs, make skits and compete against other campers while wearing your group colors for the entire week.

August 5-9 Game Show Mania Week & Movie Under the StarsShowcase your game show abilities in all camp competitions of game shows such as “Wheel of Fortune”, “Deal or No Deal”, “Survivor” and “ Double Dare,” with a Sterling twist. Bring your family for “Movie Under the Stars,” and enjoy a flick and pizza on Thursday, August 8 from 6:30-8:30pm.

August 12-16 Superstar Week & Talent ShowImpersonate your favorite celebrity, test your movie TV show trivia and get practicing on your acting skills. Our 16th Annual Talent Show will be Friday, August 16!

August 19-23 Boston Sports Team Week & Beach TripCelebrate one of the four most popular Boston sports teams, show off your sports knowledge, and compete in the themed sport of the day. Monday: Red Sox, Tuesday: Bruins, Wednesday: Patriots, Thursday: Celtics. *Sterling Woods will be going on the last beach trip to Crane Beach in Ipswich on Friday, August 23.

Ocean Adventure CampAges: Entering grades 3-8, co-edOcean Adventure Campers will have a great time participating in many water-based and water-themed activities. Possible activities include kayaking, swimming, stand-up paddle boarding, tide pooling, snorkeling, and building survival rafts. Anyone who enjoys oceans and beaches will have a great time at Ocean Adventure Camp. Campers travel off-site to nearby beaches and other water-themed attractions including the Cape Ann Whale Watch, the Seacoast Science Center, and the New England Aquarium.
