Fabrics with texture can add style and confidence to an otherwise standard look Texture constitutes an important chapter in fashion designing ndash Why ndash Because texture greatly affects the look of a garment the feel its lucidity in a way influencing the appearance of the person wearing the garment

Texture is basically connected to the weave of the fabric Sometimes we can texturize the fabric by adding stitched details pin tucks and embellishments as well

Trends come in and out of fashion as we know all too well By the time you have fallen in love with one trend itrsquos time to move onto the next There is always something new out there which we cannot wait to try out and the velvet dress is that for me When it comes to velvet this is a fabric which I have only taken too recently Popular in the 80rsquos it has now made a come back and it is showing no signs of going away anytime soonVelvet is one of my favourite fabrics it is very simple to dress up or down depending on the occasion For me the velvet dress is the new epitome of glamour it oozes elegance and shows you off in all of the right places

The velvet material also has an amazing lustre to it this works well in the darker shades such as maroons navyrsquos and forest greens but my personal favourites are the pastel tones The material looks slightly different depending on the light this dress is one of my current favourites it looks like a mix of grey blue and lilac which has a lovely shimmer to it

After travelling to the Dominican Republic I have learnt a few things about the perfect go-to dress Like most girls when packing my suitcase I ensured packing at least one outfit per evening (ok probably more like two or three) Irsquom sure you can relate when you are on holiday and your biggest decision of the day is what to wear and what to drink at the bar life is pretty good After two weeks of what felt like paradise and having the pleasure of trying out multiple dress styles I feel like I have quickly become an expert in finding the perfect go-to evening dress

There are lots of other dress styles which look great donrsquot get me wrong but for me the satin dress just fits in all of the right places making you feel sleek and super sassy Irsquom a massive fan of this style and after trying so many different dresses over the past few weeks this is the one which feels one notch above the rest

Sure there are some satin dresses which might not quite fit right a lot of them tend to be low cut have high side splits making them a little bit more revealing than your standard go-to dress However there are so many different brands showcasing this style at the moment you are bound to find one that works for you This dress style really compliments the curves so make sure you get the fit right When shopping around you need a good quality fabric which drapes over your legs with a neatly cut neckline and the perfect taper in at the waist
