Opportunities to serve
Upward Concessions We’re looking for one more person to work the concession stand on Saturday, January 27 from 4-6 p.m. We’re also in need of a couple of youth, college students or young adults who can help lift drinks, coolers, full trash bags, etc. be-tween the hours of 12-6 p.m. If you can fill any of these slots or help with the lifting, please contact Doreen Cox at 858-1943 or [email protected].
5th Sunday Food Drive We’re asking every family to be a part of our 5th Sunday Food Drive for the Care Center on Sunday, January 29. Please place a sack full of groceries in one of the collec-tion boxes around the church.
OCC Collection Operation Christmas Child is col-lecting washcloths and Ivory soap during the month of January. Please place items in designated boxes around the church. Toothpaste and candy are no longer allowed in our OCC shoe-boxes. These regulations are from the foreign countries not OCC.
We’re less than a week away from the Man Up! Men’s Conference and in less than two weeks Cookeville First Baptist will host IF: Cookeville for ladies. In our world today, men are too often forced into an ordinary life. A life that robs you of seeking your purpose and your passion. That is not the life we are designed for! We must MAN UP! if we are to take our life from the ordinary to EXTRAordinary. Join us this Saturday as Danny Singleton, of MENMATTER Ministires, and Pastor Scott McKinney challenge us to evaluate how we view our passion and purpose. And challenge us to MAN UP! to live the lives we are called to. The cost is $10 which includes breakfast and door prizes. Breakfast will be served from 7:30-8:15 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall and the conference will begin promptly at 8:30 a.m. in the Sanctuary. Get your tickets today in the Central Lobby or come by the church office during the week
to get tickets. You can also register online at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/man-up-mens-conference-tickets-31222996824?aff=efbeventtix. At IF: Cookeville February 3-4 ladies will gather around a beautifully set table and hear from 25 dynamic women in ministry as they share what the Lord has laid on their heart for you. We’ll take a deeper look at the church of Acts. Free childcare is available Friday night and Saturday morning for the first 100 who register.
The cost is $15 which includes lunch on Saturday. Register at https://register.ifgathering.com/event/ifcookeville. Grab your spot and invite a friend.

Sunday Morning Groups
MISSION TRIPS TO CINCINNATI Be part of a Family Trip March 17-19 to work with Grace Point Church in Springboro, Ohio. We’ll invite people to their second year anniversary celebration as well as assist with the celebra-tion service. Attend an infor-mation meeting on Sunday, Janu-ary 29 at 5 p.m. in Room 145 if you are interested. There will also be a college trip March 8-12. For more details on that contact Alex at 526-7108.
Cookeville First Baptist will pack backpacks and provide the snacks to include in these bags during the month of February for the Backpack Program at
Park View Elementary School. Please bring snacks to the church and place them in designated baskets around the church or drop them off in the church office. For those not familiar with the Backpack Program, this mission helps feed children during the weekend. Food, except for the snacks, is purchased from the Second Harvest Food Bank. This is a mission we share with other area
churches. Cookeville First Baptist takes certain months of the year to pack the bags and provide the snacks. We also give financially.
Ann Hertzfeldt, who heads up this ministry, is looking for Sunday Morning Groups/Sunday School classes to pack the backpacks. If you want to receive a blessing helping children, contact Ann at 260-8653 to help.
SERVE THROUGH BACKPACK MINISTRY
Tennessee Tech students are back on campus!! College Small Group moves to 11:30 a.m. today. With the small group being at 11:30, we like to
provide lunch for students. This provides them an opportunity to build relationships with each other and develop a sense of community. This is a great opportunity for every single person to meet our college students and get involved in their lives. We need groups or individuals to start providing lunch on January 29. Karen Cox leads this aspect of our college ministry. If you would like to provide lunch either with your Sunday morning group or
another group of people, please contact her at (931) 261-6218 or [email protected]. You don’t have to decorate tables and if your group would prefer, you can sponsor a meal so you don’t even have to cook.
