1. Read the guidelines very carefully

2. Make sure your project fits in with the grantmaker’s goals

3. Determine the proper amount to ask for

4. Call and ask questions

After completing your grant proposal, proofread it and make sure…

1. The spelling and grammar are correct.

2. The cover letter is addressed to a particular person.

3. The proposal is interesting to read and full of information, yet concise.

4. You have a backup plan if the grant money is not received.

5. You are not ‘reinventing the wheel’.

After getting funded ….
