Comprehensive planning is a process that determines community goals and aspirations in terms of community development. The outcome of comprehensive planning is the Comprehensive Plan which dictates public policy in terms of transportation, utilities, land use, recreation, and housing.

You will jot down your ideas in the circles on the left based on the following framework:
Past – What historic characteristics and elements of your community and neighborhood do you value? What cannot or should not change?
Example: Architecturally pleasing homes.
Present – What about your community or neighborhood do you currently value?
Example: Neighborhood schools.
Future – Thinking ahead, what are your core values, priorities, and goals for your community and neighborhood
Example: Improved housing conditions.
One Thesis – If you could change, improve, implement, or create one entity, what would it be?
