Campus Safety
● Scheduled visitors only – no classroom visits or volunteers.
● Transportation will run regular routes each day.
● Parent pick-up/drop-off drivers stay in their cars at all times.
● Limited number of students utilizing playground at one time/Social distanced where feasible. (K-6)
● All students and staff required to wear face coverings.
● Controlled student movement throughout the campus by assigning directional flow in halls, at lunch, and in high traffic areas.
● Although social distancing may be difficult, efforts to accommodate will be made where feasible. (HS)
● Hand washing/sanitizing multiple times each day. (Bus/Classroom/Restroom/Breakfast/Lunch/Recess)
● “Grab and Go” lunches will be available. Students will be social distanced in the cafeteria facing one direction.
● Breakfast procedures will be the same differentiated for the smaller group that participates in Breakfast purchases. (K-6)

Classroom Safety
● Students report to classroom upon arrival to campus.
● All students and staff required to wear face coverings.
● Desks/tables facing one direction where possible. Limit sharing of supplies - shared resources disinfected after use.

Instruction
● Students receive direct instruction 5 days per week.
● Focus on instruction to address achievement gaps.
● Focus on grades for post secondary college and career aspirations of students. (HS)

● Required Benchmark Assessments and Progress monitoring may occur.
● Specials provided. (K-6)
● Before and After School Childcare Offered at Satellite Schools.

English Language Students

The Return to Learning Team is working on this question and identifying options to address teacher instruction with in-person and virtual students through the phased-in timeline.
Grade Band Sub-Teams will identify potential challenges and how to best overcome those challenges. We will run simulations for specific grade bands. Following is the makeup of our teams.

If my student is currently enrolled in DVOLP 9-12, when can he/she return to learning in person?Due to high school credits and staffing, 9th-12th grade students can return to campus in person 2nd semester, January 2021. Please see the previous slide for unique courses.
What if my child is in high school and is not currently enrolled in DVOLP 9-12, can he/she enroll in DVOLP 9-12 right now? Due to high school credits and staffing, 9th-12th grade students can register for DVOLP 9-12 2nd semester, January 2021 (registration begins in December).
If my student is currently enrolled in DVOA K-8, when can he/she return to learning in person? Since K-8 students are currently being taught by a classroom teacher at their home school, K-8 DVOA students can return to learning in person when their grade bands return.
If I sign up my K-8 child for Deer Valley Online Learning Academy on the new survey, when can he/she return to learning in person? Students signing up for DVOA on the new survey must commit for the remainder of the fall semester. K-8 DVOA students may return to learning in person 2nd semester, January 2021.

How will we respond if there is a need to self-isolate students or staff and how will we manage teacher coverage?
