first business collegeIN IDAHO to receive accreditation

by the aacsb in 1978.

One of the best business schools in the world.

WELCOMEThe College of Business at Idaho State University welcomes graduate student applicants from throughout the state and around the globe. We are proud to have the longest running Master of Business Administration (MBA) program in the state, and we were the first to be accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) in 1978. Due to our strong and successful undergraduate accounting program, we created the Master of Accountancy program in 2011, also accredited by AACSB International. Built on that same merit we have also introduced the new Master of Taxation (MTax) program.

Additionally, we recently launched our Master of Science in Health Informatics (MSHI) program and are looking forward to introducing the Master of Health Care Administration (MHA) in fall 2018.

Welcome to ISU and the College of Business!

Bengal Solutions is a graduate student group functioning as a team of consultants providing help to real businesses. The students get the unique

opportunity to experience and manage real-world projects with actual clients helping to identify the best strategies through market research, building business

plans and identifying financial solutions.

Competitively selected NIATEC students are offered scholarships in exchange for helping to design safeguards for cyber security threats in government. Students serve federal agencies such as the FBI

after graduation. According to the program’s director Corey Schou, “[Students have many] experiential learning opportunities including handling classified material for cyber war simulations. We have even offered international simulations to support components of Hawaii, Washington and California National Guards.” Winners of the 2017 International Collegiate Business Strategy

The ICBSC is an annual event sponsored by California State University-Long Beach. Top-level students from business schools

around the globe make three years (12 quarters) of computer-simulated business decisions over the course of the semester and

submit a formal business plan and annual report.

The teams then travel to Anaheim, California in April for an intensive 72 hours of on-site competition in which they make their final decisions.

The teams also make a formal presentation to the judges, which consist of managers and executives from companies throughout the western United

States. Additiionally, the competition provides students with the opportunity to participate in networking and social events with these professionals and

other students from around the world.

The MBA program at ISU provided a unique opportunity to experience real-world situations. As a graduate student I was accepted into the Bengal

Solutions program where I gained invaluable skills and knowledge working with large and small businesses throughout Idaho to better their marketing and business practices through research and recommendations.

The Master of Science in Health Informatics is designed for any undergraduate major and can be completed after a short series of prerequisite courses. Those already majoring in a similar field may not need to take the prerequisite knowledge courses.

The MSHI is a 36 credit hour program. Students can select from two options: 33 credits of coursework plus three credits of an Informatics Project, or 30 credits of coursework plus six credits of thesis.

Students advancing to a higher level degree program will experience an educational transition. A certain amount of technical foundation knowledge is required to prepare students to be successful in the graduate level of MSHI courses.
