Board of Trustees Meeting
• The Graduate Leadership Council (GLC) compiled the results from the Annual Survey, and wrote a report (posted on our website) to present to the Board of Trustees in November
• Three major “big ticket” items:– Conflict Resolution, with the creation of a Ombudsman office to
better assist students with conflicts– Transportation, for improving the Intercampus Shuttle and a
partial subsidy of the U-Pass– Childcare, for an on-campus facility affordable to graduate
student parents

NAGPS Conference
• This fall, the GLC also submitted a grant to join the National Association of Graduate-Professional Students (NAGPS) and attend the annual conference at MIT
• NU presented on two topics:– GLC Annual Survey– Increasing graduate student
representation at the University level
• Met several other graduate student representatives for future contacts and collaboration
• Christine McCary was elected to Employment Concerns chair

NEW GSA Forum!!
• The GSA Forum is designed to provide a platform to discuss graduate student concerns, as well as be a direct link to the GSA Board and your program/department representative
• Access at nugsa.home-forum.com, or from the Dept Reps tab at our website, nugsa.com
• Open to all graduate students, just use your NU email account to register
• Two major sections– Information for department reps, and other general postings by
GSA officers– Discussion for all graduate students to post topics and
concerns

Movie Night in GSC!
• Winter Quarter Social on Friday, January 28th in the Graduate Student Commons at Seabury– Doors open at 7:30 pm, feature begins at 8 pm– Snacks will be provided– YOU pick the movie we watch! Register for the GSA
Forum and vote in the poll until next Wednesday, January 19th (nugsa.home-forum.com)
