Hayes Valley is a haven for haute couture featuring trendy fashion boutiques, SoHo-style funky art galleries, high-end-interior-decorating shops, top-notch restaurants and hip nightspots. Locals living in the area include old time residents, young professionals, and families. It is a quiet but vibrant Victorian neighborhood with a lovely park and lots of trees. Hayes Valley is also close by the Civic Center which features the Ballet, Opera, and a multitude of events which brings locals and visitors

alike. The Birdcage, an ultra Modern build-ing in a Victorian setting will attract locals and visitors alike seeking a new ultra-hip dining/bar/lounge experience. As the new local hotspot for families, friends, and hip travelers, The Birdcage will feature Interna-tional cuisine from around the world. Every night you will be experiencing a new place and a new pallet. Our clients are open minded and diverse seeking a new taste, a new experience and traveling around the world without ever leaving their table.

Blanca and Greg have bought a parcel of land in Antigua, Guatemala where they plan to settle down and open an Eco-Resort. The land is on a hill that gradually inclines and currently has several avocado trees that they do not want to remove. The Resort must be self-sustainable (off the grid). Sustainable design principles such as solar panels and grey water systems will be implemented to take advantage of the natural weather. Natural beauty and the view of three
nearby volcanoes will draw in tourist, to stay at the resort for a couple days or to come for a romantic dinner. Blanca’s love for Mayan Culture and Spanish-Colonial Architecture will drive the design concept, creating a resort that encompases both while never taking away from the true focal point, the natural landscape. This is truely a resort where one can come to escape and rejuve-nate their spirit.

In creating the single and double suites for the Taj Mahal Hotel in Mumbai, inspiration came from the play of light and shadow and a modern interpretation of the traditional indian design. Where travelers could stay in a revived, hip modern hotel that played on the tradi-tional indian motifs.
The bathroom is separated by a decora-tive screen that allows light to penatrate through the spaces creating a luxurious open airy feeling while still having the ability to close off the bathroom for more privacy.

a.{double bay suite}
The double bay suite is a luxurious version of the single bay suite, allowing for a more spacious and comfortable experience. It offers a separate kitchen where food can be prepared for you or a larger gathering, a spacious living room with bar seating to allow for mutiple types of entertainment, a large spacious bedroom allowing the bed to face the sea and an adjacent bathroom in which one can pamper themselves.

Juicy News is a boutique magazine shop located on Fillmore St. in Pacific Heights. The owner wants to revitalize the tiny shop by giving it a splash of life in an organized manner to the existing cluttered overbearing space.

inspired by the classic old school style and infusing a modern day vitality giv-ing new life to the idea of a barber shop where men go to hang out, drink whisky, play poker, and get their beards trimmed.

barbarious, a modern barber lounge was designed for men in San Fran-cisco’s Union Square for the modern day local and tourist as an experi-ence not a chore.

bio space
site specific public art
“bio-space” is an environment re-sembling a greenhouse composed of individual terrariums in which multiple ecosystems can thrive and interact with each other. The design and structure of the space raise awareness of human intervention while promoting a mutually beneficial relationship. The compact cohabitation of different ecosystems provides a beacon for how to live harmoniously as a community. “bio-space” can offer a tangible oppor-tunity for the communal involvement as cultivators and caretakers of the plant life, serving as a model for conserva-tionism within the greater world.
Overall, the experience of “bio-space” will be meditative, educational, reflec-tive, and interactive. Visitors will come away with a deeper understanding of their impact on the environment and an appreciation for the variety of natu-ral systems. Lastly, “bio-space” will reinforce the conservation mission of the San Francisco Zoo and its role as a biological park.

When first presenting the idea of creating a terrarium or terrarium like space inside the zoo, we presented three different options of material and scale. The final propos-al to the zoo incorporated transformation of materials, scale, and location to meet the zoo’s requirements.
